Animal traps.-A continuous-action trap comprises in combination a trap member A and a cage member B connected thereto by an opening or passage 10 leading from either of two exits 8 or 9 in the trap A. In the example shown the exit 9 is permanently closed and the exit 8 is connected with the passage 10, but in a modification exit 8 is permanently closed and the passage connects exit 9 with the cage B. A tread-board 2 pivoted at 3 and counter-weighted at 4 has a closure member 11 on one side which closes the exit 8 when the trap is set. The tread-board is also maintained in the set position by a catch 14 thereon which engages the upper edge of a partition 15 by means of a spring 16 on the treadboard which spring normally tends to move upwards. A member 5 pivoted at 6 is connected bv a wire 7 to the tread-board so that when an animal passes beyond the pivot 3 and treads on the spring 16 the inner end of the tread-board is depressed, the exit 8 is uncovered and the member 5 falls by its own weight to close the entrance 1 and to uncover the exit 9. A pivoted door 21 allows access to the bait 13. In a modification the trap member is accommodated in a hole in the cage member, the exit hole from the trap dispensing with the passage 10.
