Abstract

The fluids container holder includes a holder and its attached handle. A detachable top may be optionally provided. The holder is rigid and shaped to fit around the required fluid container. The holder may be modified to assist in pouring, and marked to indicate quantity of fluid dispensed. The holder may have a second handle which may be oblique to its base (Figure 3). The holder may be designed to hold a carton, as shown, or a bottle.

Description

FLUIDS CONTAINER HOLDER Patent Application by Russell Sullman (4 August 1996) This Invention relates to a Fluids Container Holder.
Most forms of drink and sauces are dispensed from various types of carton and bottle. It can sometimes be difficult to drink or pour from them. There is therefore a need for a container holder.
My invention is designed to act as a holder for fluid containers, especially those containing drinks or sauces.
The essential features are the containment section (hereafter referred to as the support holder) and an attached grip section (hereafter referred to as the handle).
The support holder is shaped so that the inner surface can adopt to either a bottle or a carton. The size is dependant on the shape and size of the container to be accomadated designs can be merged to produce a holder which can hold more than one type of container.
An embodiment of the invention can be seen in drawing (1). This holder has been shaped to hold a drinks carton. The carton is held firmly within the container, without putting undue pressure on the sides of the carton, minimizing risk of damage to the carton, and preventing overspill from a newly-opened carton. The spout holds part of the opened carton and also assists in pouring. Although the container is held snugly, preventing its' movement within the support holder, it is still easy to slide the container out.
A lip or spout can be an optional feature on some support holders.
The support holder may also be marked to assist the user in finding how much fluid has been dispensed.
The handle may be designed in many styles, for aesthetic and/or functional use.
Individuals who have difficulty in pouring from containers (for example those with reduced physical ability) will find the support holder particularly useful.
The holder may also be designed with more than one handle, to assist in two-handed use.
An attachable top section may be made available to help retain the container in the holder.
The holder may be made in a variety of different materials.
Support holders can also be made for containers of non-edible materials, for example combustion engine fluids.

Claims (11)

1. A fluid container holder including a container support holder and one or more handle-like grips.
2. A holder as claimed in (1) where the internal dimensions match the dimensions of the container to be held.
3. A holder as claimed in (1) and (2) where the handle(s) are attached directly to the holder to assist handling.
4. A holder as claimed in any preceding claim designed in various shapes to accomadate different shapes of container.
5. A holder as claimed in any preceding claim which is made from metal, plastics, glass, or from a combination of these or other materials.
6. A holder as claimed in any preceding claim with a modification to assist in pouring.
7. A holder as claimed in any preceding claim which protects in addition to holding the container.
8. A holder as claimed in any preceding claim which can come with an attachable top section to give added retention and support.
9. A holder as claimed in any preceding claim where the holder is marked to indicate quantity of fluid dispensed.
10. A holder as claimed in any preceding claim where the handle(s) are designed for aesthetic and/or functional use.
11. A holder as claimed in any preceding claim substantially as herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
