Description

LAMINATED HOSE WITH EXPOSED WIRE The present invention relates to a laminated hose with an exposed wire, and more particularly to a laminated hose in which turbulent flow of fluid is not caused inside.
A laminate hose with an exposed wire comprises an inner ring and an exposed outer ring as essential elements. In a conventional laminated hose, as the inner ring wavlly projects from the inner surface of a laminated body inside the hose, fluid flowing in the hose causes a turbulent flow phenomenon in the vicinity of the inner ring to increase the whole flow resistance.
To solve the above problem, an applicant of the present invention discloses an improved laminated hose in Japanese Laid Open Utility Model Publication No. 2-29383, in which a cylindrical sheet is attached to an inner surface of the hose for covering the entire inner surface. In this laminated hose, an additional process for attaching the cylindrical sheet to the inside of the hose is required to increase manufacturing processes.
Further, there is known from Japanese Lald-Open Utility Model Publication No. 2-76287, a technology for reducing the flow resistance by making a diameter of the inner ring smaller than that of the outer ring, referred as an additional effect.
The disclosed technology has a problem that a wire disorder tends to occur (the inner ring goes over the outer ring to cause a disorder of pitch and a constriction of hose) when the hose is subjected to repetitive vending, because the inner ring is made thin.
In order to solve the foregoing problems, an object of the present invention is to provide a laminated hose in which a turbulent flow Is not caused, which conventlonally occurred because of the inner ring projecting from the inner periphery along which the fluid flows. An inner ring in the laminated hose is aligned with the laminated body wound on the outside of the inner ring, so that the inner periphery of the laminated hose is made flat without convex/concave portions, to present a laminar flow of fluid inside the hose.
A laminated hose according to the present invention comprises: an inner ring, an inner cloth wound on the outside of the inner ring, a laminated body formed by winding a continuous film to a predetermlned thickness on the inner cloth, an outer cloth layer formed by winding an outer cloth on the laminated body, and an outer ring wound on the outer cloth layer. The laminated hose of the present invention is characterized in that the inner ring has a cross section of a triangle and the bottom of the triangle is arranged to substantially align with the inner surface of the laminated body, thereby forming a flat inner surface inside the hose.
FIG. 1 is a partially broken elevational view of a laminated hose with an exposed wire according to one embodiment of the present invention; FIG. 2 is a fragmentary sectional view showing a function of a conventional laminated hose; FIG. 3 is a fragmentary sectional view showing a function of the laminated hose according to the present invention; FIG. 4 is a partially broken elevational view of a laminated hose according to another embodiment of the present invention; FIG. 5 is a schematic view showing a joint structure between the hose and the coupling as shown in FIG. 4; FIG. 6 is an enlarged detall of FIG. 5; FIG 7 is a schematic view showlng a Joint structure between the conventional hose and the coupling.
First, an embodiment showing a basic structure of the present invention will be descrlbed referrlng to FIG. 1.
A laminated hose 10 comprises an inner cloth 3 wound on the outside of an inner spiral ring 1. a laminated body 5 formed by splrally winding a continuous film on the outside of the inner cloth 3 in a predetermined thickness, an outer cloth layer 4 formed by spirally winding an outer cloth 41 on the outside of the laminated body 5 and an outer spiral ring 2 wound on the outside of the outer cloth layer 4.
As clearly shown in FIG. 1, the inner spiral ring 1 is formed into a triangle in its cross section so that the base of the triangle is aligned with an inner surface of the laminated body 5. Thus, an inner surface la of the inner spiral ring 1, which serves as a part of the inner periphery 6 of the laminated hose 10, and both side surfaces ib of the inner spiral ring 1, which contact with the laminated body 5 through the inner cloth 3, are made planar and the entire inner periphery 6 of the laminated hose 10 is made substantially flat.
An effect of the laminated hose according to the present invention will be explained referring to FIG. 3, in comparison with a conventional laminated hose 10' as shown in FIG. 2.
In a conventional laminated hose 10' as shown in FIG. 2, because an inner spiral ring 1' has a circular cross section, an inner surface la' of the inner spiral ring 1' projects from an inner surface of the inner cloth 3 to form a concave/convex inner surface 6' inside the hose 10'. Therefore, in fluid flowlng in the hose 10', a phenomenon of turbulent flow (cavitation) is occurred in the vicinity of junctions C between the inner surface of the inner cloth 3 and the Inner spiral ring 1'. The fluid paths W1-W3, especially the fluid path W1 closest to the inner surface 6' of the hose 10', are waved to increase the flow resistance.
Contrary to the above, in the laminated hose 10 employing the inner spiral ring 1 having the triangular cross section according to the present invention as shown In FIG. 3, as the inner surface of the inner cloth 3 and the inner surface la of the inner spiral ring 1 are aligned with each other to form the flat inner peripheral surface 6. Thus, even the fluid path W1 closest to the inner peripheral surface of the hose 10 maintains a laminar flow and the flow resistance because of wave is not caused and the flow resistance as a whole does not increase.
Another embodiment of the present invention will be explained referring to FIG. 4. In the FIG. 4, the same numeral as in FIGS. 1-3 indicates the same or similar elements in FIGS. 1-3.
FIG. 4 shows a laminated hose 20 connected to a coupling 30 which comprises a nipple 7, a cylindrical sleeve 8 and a universal nut 9. In this embodiment, an inner ring 21 and an outer ring 22 are not in the form of a spiral ring. The inner ring 21 and the outer ring 22 respectively comprises a plurality of closed loop rlngs arranged parallel to each other. As shown in FIG. 4, a connecting part of a laminated hose 10 has a seal securing portion X, which is processed so that the laminated body 5 is exposed by removing the inner ring 21, outer-ring 22, the inner cloth 3 and the outer cloth layer 4, and a gripplng portion Y, which is not partlcularly processed. In joining the laminated hose 10 with the coupling 30, after applying seal material 40 to the seal securing portion X, a distal end 50 of the hose 20 is inserted between the nipple pipe 71 and the sleeve 81, and the sleeve 81 is caulked radially from outside to join the hose 10 with the coupling 30. A flange end 84 of the sleeve 8 is engaged with a groove 74 formed on the nipple pipe 71. Also in this embodiment, the inner ring 1 has a cross section of a triangle and the bottoms of the respective triangles are arranged to align with each other. With the above arrangement, when forming the laminated body 5 by winding a sheet on the inner ring 21 and when fitting the outer ring 22 on the laminated body 5, a fitting force between the inner ring 21 and the laminated body 5 acts along ridges of the triangle to maintain the flatness of the inner surface of the laminated body 5, thereby making the inner peripheral surface 6 which contacts with fluid substantially flat.
Further, when joining the laminated hose 20 with the coupling 30, as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, apexes 13 on the bottom of the triangle of the inner ring 21 can be fitted into the sawtooth grooves 76 formed on the nipple pipe 71 to engage the summits 13 with projections 77 of the grooves 76, so that a function of retaining the coupling 30 is enhanced, in comparison with a joint structure between a conventional hose 20' having an inner ring 21' and a coupling 30' having sawtooth grooves 76', as shown in FIG. 7.
Accordlng to the present invention, as the inner ring has a cross section of a triangle, the inner ring is well fitted into the laminated body to align the inner surface of the inner ring with an inner surface of the laminated body, to present a flat continuous surface inside the hose. Therefore, fluid flowing inside the hose is made laminar even in the vicinity of the laminated body, so that the flow resistance is uniform and reduced to increase a flow rate of fluid, in comparison with the conventional laminated hose.
Further, there is no projection at junctions between the inner ring and the laminated body, no fluid remains in the junctions, so that any fluid drlp scarcely occurred in uslng the hose in a tank lorry, etc.
