Abstract

A floating cover with or without a floating frame is floated upon the surface of a liquid to reduce evaporation. The cover (1) may be fastened to a floating frame (2) which may have cover supports (4) to form a raised floating cover. The floating cover may be fastened to buoyancy aids or anchoring devices or to other objects by means of securing devices (3) attached to the floating cover. It may also have one or more locating tubes (5).

Description

Floating Cover This invention relates to a Floating Cover It is well known that a liquid will evaporate at a rate which is proportional to its exposed surface area. The smaller the surface area and the less evaporation takes place. A floating cover is one designed to float on a liquid reducing the exposed surface area and slowing the liquid's evaporation rate, thus preserving the of quantity liquid below the surface.
According to the present invention there is provided a floating cover comprising of an impervious cover which is floated upon the liquid's surface, with or without a floating frame of at least one side upon which the cover may be fastenend and which may be raised to form a space below it. The floating cover may be attached to other objects by means of a securing device and may possess one or more locating tubes.
Five specific examples of the invention will now be described. The following items shall refer.

5. A Locating Tube.

Referring to the drawing, the floating cover comprises, A triangular floating frame (2) to which is attached a cover (1), which is flat across the top of the floating frame.

Referring to the drawing, the floating cover comprises, A triangular floating frame (2) to which is attached a cover (1), which is raised across the top of the floating frame by cover supports (4) to form an inclined surface. Securing devices (3) are placed at the corners of the floating frame.

Claims (7)

Claims
1. . A floating cover, with or without a floating frame of at least one side and upon which is secured impervious cover.
2. A floating cover as in Claim 1 with a method of securing it to another object.
3. A floating cover as in Claims 1 & 2 with a bouyancy device attached.
4. A floating cover as in Claims 1,2 & 3 with an anchoring device attached.
5. A floating cover as Claimed in previous Claims with a secured cover raised to form an incline.
6. A floating cover as in Claimed in previous Claims with a secured cover raised to form a curved surface.
7. A floating cover as Claimed in previous Claims which has a locating tube.
