Description
UMBRELLA LAMP MEANS
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
The general object of the present invention is to provide an umbrella lamp to protect users of such umbrella from getting hit by vehicles drivers who can't see very clearly in raining day or in the dark by means of this flickering umbrella lamp controlled with a circuit and a switch.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
This invention relates to an umbrella lamp means which comprises a lamp fitted on the top of an umbrella and electrically associated with a circuit controlled by a switch and having a battery, an oscillatory IC and a transistor, wherein an electrical current flowing from the battery can flow to the lamp either passing through or without passing through the circuit, depending on the position of the switch.
When the switch is turned to a FLICKER position, the current will be turned into an oscillatory current by means of the oscillatory IC, and the transistor will make the oscillatory current become a intermittent current which then flows to the lamp so that the lamp flickers and other passing drivers can be made to be aware of an user of this umbrella.
When the switch is turned to a NORMAL position, the current flows directly to the lamp so that the lamp lights and an user of this umbrella can see clearly and make other passing drivers notice therewith in the dark.
BRIEF DESCRIPTIONS OF THE DRAWINGS
The invention will be better understood by reference to the accompanying drawings, wherein:
FIG. 1 is a view showing the appearance of an umbrella and an umbrella lamp means of the present invention;
FIG. 2 is a view showing a simplified arrangement of a circuit adopted in the umbrella lamp means of the present invention; and,
FIG. 3 is a view illustrating the umbrella lamp means of the present invention being used by a man.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
An umbrella lamp means of the present invention comprises a lamp 3 protected by a lampshade 2 on the upper end of a shank 1 of an umbrella, a switch 4 on a handle li which is on the bottom portion of the shank 1 and a circuit 5 as shown in FIG. 2) fitted on the handle 11.
The switch 4 is electrically connected with both the lamp 3 and the circuit 5, which mainly includes a battery 51 supplying electrical energy thereto, an oscillatory IC 52 and a transistor 53 through which an electric current goes to the lamp 3 when the switch 4 is turned to a NORMAL or a FLICKER position.
The working of the unbrella lamp means being: when the switch 4 is turned to the NORMAL position, the battery 51 will supply electricity to the lamp 3 without going through the oscillatory IC 52; when the switch is turned to the FLICKER position, the electric current from the battery 51 will go into the oscillatory IC 52 to be turned by means of the oscillatory IC 52 into an oscillatory current which then flows to the transistor 53 so that the lamp 3 receives the electric current intermittently, the transistor 53 admitting only currents in one certain direction.
When users don't need to use the umbrella lamp, the switch is turned to an OFF position.
When users turn the switch 4 to the FLICKER position, the lamp 3 is made to flicker so that vehicle drivers or motorcycle riders can be easily aware of the presence of the users and avoid hitting the users holding the umbrella in raining day or in the dark.
When the users turn the switch 4 to the NORMAL position, the light of the lamp 3 can guide the users in the dark.
According to the above described umbrella lamp means, it can be understood that this means has advantages as follows:
1. The users walking in the dark or in a raining day can be secured from getting hit because the drivers passing can be made to be aware of the presence of the users holding the umbrella by the light of the lamp 3.
2. When the switch 4 is turned to the NORMAL position, the lighting effect of the lamp 3 can help the users to see clearly in the dark.
While the preferred embodiments of the invention have been described above, it will be recognized and understood that various modifications may be made therein and the appended claims are intended to cover all such modifications which may fall within the spirit and scope of the invention.
Claims (1)
- What is claimed is:An umbrella lamp means comprising a circuit and a battery supplying an electric current for the circuit an characterized by having a lamp electrically connected with the circuit on a top of an umbrella and a switch provided on a handle of the umbrella to control the circuit in order to make the lamp become off or light normally or flicker.
