Abstract
230,843. Akt.-Ges. der Maschinenfabriken Escher, Wyss, et Cie. March 13, 1924, [Convention date]. Casings.-For multistage turbines subjected to high pressures and temperatures, the pressure drop is sustained in a series of steps by a series of thin-walled casings 12, 13, 14 of different lengths arranged one within another and open at the end to different stages so that each casing sustains only a part of the full pressure drop. The external pressure on the nozzle ring 2 supplying the first stage 3 is the pressure of that stage.
