Abstract

230,584. Clarke, A. V., and Gilbert, C. G. Jan. 15, 1924. Needles; jacks or sliders for needles.-Double-ended latch or bearded machine needles are formed with slots or holes 2 in the stems for engagement with corresponding parts 4 of the jacks or sliders 3. The holes and projections may be duplicated. The jack may be notched as at 12, Fig. 6, to engage a bridge piece or pin 14 in a recess 16. The coacting parts may be bevelled, dovetailed, or undercut. The jacks are cut away at 17 to extend over the needle hook or beard. According to the Provisional Specification projections on the needle stems may be engaged by corresponding notches in the jacks.
