Abstract

The assembly comprises a receptor support (10, Fig 4) which can be attached to a further waste collection receptacle (12, Fig 1). Individual waste receptors (14, Fig 3) are located and supported within the receptor support. Both the support and the receptors are provided with integrally formed handles.

Description

'Separated' Household Waste Collection Assembly This invention relates to a 'separated' household waste collection assembly.
Traditional domestic refuge bins are basically a cylindrical rubber or plastic based construction incorporating handles and detachable lid.
This design has progressively been replaced by a plastic based construction which is basically square in cross section with integral wheels and hinged lid, most commonly known as the 'Wheelie Bin'.
Domestic refuse bins, being of single compartment design, do not allow individual, point of use separated, materials to be stored separately.
Independant storage devices are available but are not compatible, nor can they be integrated, with the primary household refuge collection device.
According to the present invention, for which this application refers, there is provided a 'separated' waste collection assembly which can be integrated with the primary household refuge device, comprising a detachable receptor support incorporating a hinged lid, and individual 'separated' waste receptors having integral handles and drain holes.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Figure 1 Shows in perspective, the detachable receptor support with individual receptors located, lid in the closed position and the whole assembly integrated with the primary household refuse device (wheelie bin) shown in part section.
Figure 2 As figure 1, but with the whole assembly detached from the primary household refuse device with the lid in an 'exploded' view.
Figure 3 Illustrates the seperation of individual receptors from receptor support.
Figure 4 Shows independant view of receptor support, illustrating integral handles and 'exploded' view of lid.
Figure 5 Shows independant view of typical receptor, illustrating integral handles.
Referring to the aforementioned drawings the 'separated' waste collection device comprises a receptor support (10), which is basically a 'frame' with internal profiles (11) to match the external profiles of individual receptors.
The receptor support is integrated or coupled with the primary household refuge device (12), in this illustration, by means of integral hooks.
The individual receptors (14) are positioned by inserting through the profiles (11) of the receptor supports.
The individual receptors incorporate flanges (15), which also form the handles (16). The underside of these flanges locate with the upperside of the receptor support to keep individual receptors in position and located.
The Lid (18) is a basic manually operated hinged (13) component.
The whole assembly can be removed by lifting from the primary household refuse device by means of integral handles, being in the form of finger profiles (17), on the underside of the receptor support.
Individual receptors can be withdrawn from the receptor support by means of lifting with aforementioned handles (16).

Claims (1)

  1. Claim 1 A 'separated' waste collection assembly comprising a receptor support, attached to which are individual waste receptors, means for lifting the whole assembly or individual components with means for supporting and location of individual receptors within the receptor support and a means for integrating the whole assembly as part of the primary household, or other form of, waste collection device.
Claim 2 A 'separated' waste collection assembly as claimed in claim 1 whereby the receptor support has at least one hinged lid.
Claim 3 A 'separated' waste collection assembly as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2, where individual receptors have a hinged lid.
Claim 4 A 'separated' waste collection assembly as claimed in claim 3 wherein guide means are provided on the receptor support co-operable with individual receptors to control installation or removal of such.
Claim 5 A 'separated' waste collection assembly as claimed in claim 4 by which means are provided to either permenantly or temporarily fasten the whole assembly or individual components together.
Claim 6 A 'separated' waste collection assembly as claimed in claim 5 wherein means are provided to fasten the whole assembly to any other waste collection device, structure or body.
Claim 7 A 'separated' waste collection assembly as claimed in any previous claim wherein the locating or support features are adapted or modified to alter the orientation of the individual receptors within the receptor support.
Claim 8 A 'separated' waste collection assembly as claimed in claim 7 wherein the profile of the receptor support is modified for compatability with other collection device, structure or body.
Claim 9 A 'separated' waste collection assembly as claimed in claim 8 wherein individual receptors incorporate means for integration with any other collection device, structure or body as an independant component.
Claim 10 A 'separated' waste collection assembly substantially as described herein with reference to figures 1 to 5 of the accompanying drawings.
