Lighting systems.-In regulating the intensity of a number of lighting-circuits according to the invention of the parent Specification, means additional to those actually in use are provided for selecting in advance new values of the lighting intensity and for substituting the new values when required. In one arrangement, four groups of theatre lamps are variably dimmed by inductance-devices 10 regulated by variable saturation currents in coils 11. Rheostats 25<a>, 27<a>, 28<a> afford means for varying the regulating coils one, two, or four at a time, so long as a group of linked change-over switches 20 are in the upper positions shown. Additional rheostats 25<b>, 27<b>, constitute the means for selecting new values in advance, either in the individual circuits or jointly in two or four circuits, and are brought into action by operating the change-over switches 20 by solenoids 21, 22 subject to a master switch 29. The system may be provided' with electromagnetic switches 12 for closing the lamp circuits, and pilot lamps 14 in connection therewith.
