Description

Fl ECTRONIC TllVIE RECORDER This invention relates to a self contained Electronic Time Recorder.
Time Recorders are devices for recording the arrival and departure times of employee's.
They use external coded devices, either a Cardboard Time Card to record the arrival and departure times on the actual card or a "Credit Card" type badge, Key or Numeric Keypad using a PIN nierber code to identify the employee and record the times electronically. Then formatting and printing to a printing device. Time Cards, Badges and Keys have to be issued to each employee either weekly of at least initially. They can be lost, damaged or forgotten. Pin numbers can be forgotten or inputted incorrectly.
The proposed invention will not require and external coded device (Badge, Card or Key) or the selection of sequential PIN numbers, but will be a single action self contained selection process.
According to the present invention there is provided a panel (figl,2) with a graphic overlay (figl,5) indicating named employee locations (figl,3) against which is provided a button (figl,7) and LED (figl,6). Also provided is a Liquid Crystal Display (figl,l) which will normally indicate the present time and date.
The present imtention is provided with a printer mounted inside the locked (figl,4) panel which is used for report generation. All operational controls for time and date and employee transactions are controlled by an inbuilt central processor unit (CPU). The invention is mains powered and provided with full operational battery back up.
Employee's press the button (figl,7) located adjacent to their name (figl,3) the LED toggles to or or "OUT" (lit or unlit). The LCD (figl,6) confirms the employees name, the date and time plus status relating to "IN" or "OUT". This data is recorded in the CPU memory.
The LEDS provide visual 'presents' indication against employee's names, this information may be mimicked to a remote panel, useful for fire roll call purposes.
Reports are provided by the internal printer which is accessed by lowering the hinged and locked front panel (figl,2 and 4). Reports may also be accessed by data line to a PC.

Claims (2)

  1. ELECTRONIC TIME RECORDER 1. A totally self contained Electronic Time Recorder, using a single operation clocking method without recourse to an external coded device.
  2. 2. The totally self contained Electronic Time Recorder as claimed in claim 1, wherein the presets or otherwise of an emplyee is indicated by a LED adjacent to the employees name.
