Description
SLEEVED SANTARY P.NTIE GUSSET LINER
TECHNOLOGY FIELD. The intellectual propert covered by this patent relates to sanitary pantie liners, and in particular sleeved sanitary pantie liners for lining the gusset of a boy garment embodying an integral brief pantie, with an openable gusset. The gusset in this context being the portion of material (usually re-inforced) in the crotch area of the pantie, located between the legs of the wearer which is prone to staining from body fluids.
BACKGROUND Numerous body garments embody an integral pantie with an openable gusset (secured by press studs or hook and et7e fasteners) are now commonly available particularly for ladies. Some of the popular names for such garments include:- a leotard, body shaper, basque, body suit, and a pantie corselette. Also many dance dresses, and ball gowns incorporate an integral pantie with an openable gusset. The advantage of the openable gusset is for convenience when answering the call of nature.
Usually the pantie section of these garments is brief and dose fitting which makes it bulkw for some ladies to wear an additional pantie inside the garment integral pantie.
Furthermore, some ladies may also find it uncomfortable to wear an additional pantie, on even just a sanitan, pantie liner inside the integral pantie of the boch garment.
STAVE OF THE ART. Although disposable pantie liners are available on the market. being of single rectangular piece construction. there is no foolproof means to secure them in place inside the gusset, making them prone to moving out of place, and even falling out. As a result some ladies prefer to wear no additional pantie or liner inside the pantic section of the body garments, which would make the garments vulnerable to earth staining b) bod, fluids and necessitating more frequent washes between wears.
OBJET. The object of the present invention is to overcome the above mentioned discomforts and shortcomings in the present state of the art by providing a sleeved sanitar, pantit: liner that encompasses the openable gusset of the crotch section of the pantie. thus keeping it secureh- in place and comfortable for the user.
SCOPE The scope of coverage of this slewed sanitae gusset liner Patent includes both disposable and washableireusable sleeved gusset liners. Also the scope of the Patent includes sleeved gusset liners adapted for use not onty by ladies, but also babies, children of both sexes, and even men, part:icularly the elder and partially incontinent.
ADDITIONAL SCOPE A further enhancement of the present invention includes a split sleeved sanitary gusset liner wherein the sleeve is formed by the user, after the liner is placed on the gusset, thereby enabling the split sleeved sanitary liner to be used on panties and garments having integral panties that are not provided with an openable gusset.
PRIOR ART. A search carried out on the Derwent World Patent Index Orbit Data Base has revealed no anticipations of a sleeved pantie gusset liner, nor split sleeved pantie gusset liner.
REFERENCE TO DR4UzlNGS:- In order that the invention may be more readily understood, the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
Fig. 1 is a perspective illustration of a typical body suit for ladies. provided with an openable gusset, fastened by press studs, and shown with the gusset open.
Fig. 2 is the same body suit, but with the gusset shown closed.
Fig. 3 is an illustration showing a disposable sleeved gusset liner slipped onto the lower section of the open gusset of a typical body suit.
Fig. 4 is an illustration showing the disposable sleeved gusset liner in place after the gusset is closed.
Fig. 5 is an illustration showing a washable and re-usable sleeved gusset liner slipped onto the lower section of the open gusset of a typical body suit.
Fig. 6 is an illustration showing the washable re-usable sleeved gusset liner in place on the closed gusset.
Fig. 7 is an illustration of a partially installed sleeved gusset liner having a transparent outer sleeve section shown with the gusset open.
Fig. 8 is an illustration of a sleeved gusset liner with transparent outer sleeve in place.
Fig. 9 is an illustration of a wrap-around split sleeved gusset liner suitable for the pantie section of body suits without openable gussets, showing the self adhesive overlappping joining faces partially undone.
Fig. 10 is similar to Fig. 9 except that the wrap-around split sleeve is provided only at the two ends and the middle section instead of the split sleeve encompassing the entire length.
DESCRIPTIoN- Refening to Figs. 1, 2, 3, & 4, one preferred embodiment of the present invention consists of a sleeved sanitae gusset liner, 1, for lining and encompassing the openable gusset, 2, (or crotch area, 2, of the integral pantie section 3, of a body' garment, 4, see
Figs. l & 2, the openable gusset, 2, being fastened by press studs 5 & 6. (or alternatively hook and eye fasteners. not shown). The sleeved liner, 1, is preferably a flattened venturi tube shape, having the body contact section, 7, provided with soft absorbent material, and the whole sleeved sanitary liner being made of disposable materials that comply with legislation relating to disposable sanitary liner materials.
AlternativehJ, in another embodiment of the sleeved sanitary gusset liner, see Figs. 5 & 6, the bod! contact section, 7, is provided with soft absorbent washable materials, including towelling materials and knitted fabrics, which together with all of the materials of the sleeved liner are re-usable after washing.
In an optional embodiment of the present invention, see Figs. 7 & 8, the outer material of the sleeved gusset liner, 8, is translucent or transparent, so as not to be noticed when used on body garments such as a leotard, or dance dress, prone to occasional exposure when twirling dance movements cause the skirt to lift.
In a further enhancement (see Fig. 9) of the present invention, the liner, 1, is provided with a longitudinally split sleeve, 10, which is formed in place by the user after the liner, 1, is installed on the inside of the gusset by wrapping the split sleeve, 9 & l0, around the outside of the gusset, and bonding the self adhesive overlapping joining faces, l l & 12 together. thus enabling the present invention to be used on pantie sections not provided vxith openable gussets.
In a fiuther enhancement, see Fig. 10. of the present split sleeve emhodimcnt of the present invention. the split wrap-around sleeve is not provided over the entire length of the liner or gusset, but instead at only a few strategic sections, preferably near the ends. 13 & BR< 14, and optionally the middle section, 15, each with their self adhesive oveiiapping joining faces, 16 & 17.
