Abstract

229,745. Metcalf, W. Miller-. Nov. 23, 1923. Castor wheels.-A wheel for furniture castors has a breadth which is great in relation to its diameter and comprises a smooth metal tube e on which is moulded or pressed a tread f of material such as fibre, rubber, ebonite, boxwood, and maple. The tread may be moulded over a metal ring g pressed on to the tube e, or the middle part of the tread may comprise a metal ring h. A metal tread j may be placed over a rubber ring i, and the tread may be made convex. Ball-bearing cones l are pressed into the ends of the tube e, as shown in Fig. 12. Specification 201,974, [Class 132 (i). Amusement and exercising apparatus &c.], is referred to.
