Description

DEVICE POR PUMPING WATER FROM A RESERVOIR TO A TANK The present invention relates to a device for pumping water from a reservoir to a tank, and more particularly, to a device having a first pipe and a second pipe communicating with the tank and an air-tight reservoir wherein a pump is installed further wherein the pump is connected to a first end of the first pipe.
Referring to Fig. 1, a building 94 generally has a tank 93 for storing water therein so as to dispense water to every unit in the building 94, a reservoir 90 is built on the ground or under the ground, which is communicated with water service pipe 97 in order to store water therein, a pump 91 is disposed in the water in the reservoir 90 and is connected with the tank 93 by a pipe 95 at one end of the pipe 95. A float ball 92 is disposed to the other end of the pipe 95 and serves as a sensor to actuate the pump 91 to pump water from the reservoir 90 to the tank 93. However, when water is pumped up into the tank 93, in order to maintain a pressure balance in the reservoir 90, there must be an opening 901 defined in the reservoir 90 or a lower pressure area will be created, but in this way, the water stored in the reservoir 90 tends to be come polluted. The tank 93 also has several vents 96 defined therein for a purpose of maintaining a pressure balance.
The present invention intends to provide a device for pumping water from a reservoir to a tank, the reservoir is an air-tight reservoir in which a pump is disposed and is connected with the tank by a first pipe, a second pipe is connected between the tank and the reservoir so that the air in the tank is dispensed to the reservoir via the second pipe when pumping water into the tank and this arrangement mitigates and/or obviates the above-mentioned problems.
The present invention provides a device for pumping water from a reservoir to a tank, the reservoir is an airtight reservoir and connected to a water service pipe to fill water therein and a pump disposed therein, a first pipe connected between the pump and the tank with a first end and a second end thereof respectively and a second pipe connected between the reservoir and the tank with a first end and a second end thereof respectively, the second end of the second pipe is disposed higher than that of the first pipe and a float ball is disposed to the second end of the second pipe to serve as a sensor to actuate the pump when the water level in the tank is lower than a predetermined position.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a device for pumping water from an air-tight reservoir to a tank with two pipes connected therebetween and having a feature of no opening defined in the reservoir so as to avoid from being polluted therefrom.
Other objects, advantages, and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
In the drawings: Fig. 1 is a side illustrative view of a conventional device for pumping water from a reservoir to a tank; Fig. 2 is a side illustrative view of a device for pumping water from a reservoir to a tank in accordance with the present invention; Fig. 3 is a view similar to Fig. 2, wherein the water is pumped by the pump from the reservoir to the tank and is shown in arrows; and Fig. 4 is a view similar to Fig. 2, wherein the water is pressured up from the reservoir to the tank and is shown in arrows.
Referring to the drawings and initially to Fig. 2, a building 60 has a tank 40 disposed to an upper portion thereof and a reservoir 10 is disposed on the ground, which is connected to a water service pipe 20 to fill water therein. The reservoir 10 is an air-tight reservoir in which a pump 30 is disposed, and the tank 40 has a plurality of vents 42 defined therein.
A first pipe 31 has a first end 311 connected to the pump 30 and a second end 312 communicating with an interior of the tank 40, a second pipe 50 having a first end 501 communicating with an interior of the reservoir 10 and a second end 502 communicating with the interior of the tank 40. The second end 502 of the second pipe 50 is arranged higher than the second end 312 of the first pipe 30 in the tank 40 and a float ball 41 is disposed to the second end 502 of the second pipe 50 so as to incorporate with a limitswitch (figure not shown) and serves as a sensor to actuate the pump 30.
Referring to Fig. 3, when the water level in the tank 40 is lower than a predetermined position, the float ball 41 is therefore lowered to actuate the limit-switch and to actuate the pump 30 to pump water in the reservoir 10 up to the tank 40 via the first pipe 31 as indicate by arrows, wherein the air in the tank 40 is dispensed from the second pipe 50 and the vents 42 thereof to maintain a pressure balance in the tank 40 and the reservoir 10 respectively.
Referring to Fig. 4, when the water pressure in the water service pipe 20 is high enough, in the night for example, then the water will be pressured up to the tank 40 via the second pipe 50 and the air in the tank 40 is dispensed from the vents 42 thereof so as to maintain a pressure balance in the tank 40.
Accordingly, the reservoir 10 is designed to an airtight reservoir such that the water therein is prevented from becoming polluted and when the pump 30 is actuated, a lower pressure region in the tank 40 can be avoided from being created because of the arrangement of the second pipe 50.
Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
