Abstract
Escalator advertising in which the advertisements are attached onto the moving handrails 2 of the escalator. The advertisements 1 and the people 4 who stand on the escalator are moving at same speed in order that the people 4 see the advertisements 1 clearly and may record some details of the advertisements. Because the advertisements are small and thin, the people still can rest their hands on the handrails as usual. The moving handrail may include small pockets containing advertisement cards which can be taken out by people on the escalator (Figure 3). <IMAGE>
Description
ADVERTISEMENTS ARE ATTACHED ONTO THE MOVING
HANDRAILS OF ESCALATOR
In many public places(eg: underground station, shopping centre) there are many escalators.
Normally there are many advertisements on the escalator's wall, the people stand on the escalator who can see the advertisements.
But there is a big problem in this advertising method, the advertisements are stationary, the people are moving, so they can not see the advertisements clearly, they can not see the details of the advertisements, they can not record any phone number or address from the advertisements.
According to this invention, the small advertisements are attached onto the escalator's moving handrails in order to make the advertisements moving. In this case the people and the advertisements are moving at same speed. The people stand on the escalator can see the advertisements clearly for a short period. They may record some details(eg:phone number, address) of the advertisements. Even we can attach some small pockets onto the moving handrails in which there are some advertising cards, if the people are interested in the cards, they may take them from the pockets.
Because the advertisements are small and thin, the people can still rest their hands on the handrails as usual.
At present, the rubber handrails of escalator are black. If the colourful advertisements are attached onto them, the handrails will became more interesting. It is very important that the escalator's owner will get more commercial profit from the advertisements.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
Fig 1 shows that people 4 stand on the steps 3 of escalator who can see the advertisements clearly. The advertisements 1 are attached onto the rubber moving handrail 2. The 8 is banister stand.
Fig 2 shows a device of handrail(in end view) which is designed for attaching the advertisements 1. There is a groove in the handrail base 7, in the groove there are advertisements 1 and the clear cover 5, the clear cover 5 can protect the advertisements 1. The cover 5 can be easily stuck or removed in order to change the advertisements 1.
Fig 3 shows a special device(in end view) in which there are small pockets in the handrail base 9. The hard and clear plastic card 11 can protect the advertisement cards 18. Because the one side 10 of the pocket is open, the people 4 can take the advertisement cards 18 out.
Fig 4 shows a special device(in end view) in which a rubber or plastic base 12 is stuck onto the normal moving handrail 13 by adhesive. In this case, we do not need to change all the handrails, we only make the rubber or plastic base 12. In the base 12 there is a groove in which there are the advertisements 1 and the cover 5. We can stick the base 12 onto the normal moving handrail 13. This device is very easy to be made and much cheap.
