Abstract

A moulded plastic connector for use in connecting hoses together in vehicle cooling systems has endpieces with stepped profiles for inserting into hoses having different internal diameters. The hoses are secured on the connector by hose clips. The endpieces can be connected by a flexible pipe section or by a rigid pipe bend. A closable opening can be provided in the section connecting the two endpieces for flushing the coolant system. The sections of the stepped endpieces which are smaller than the hoses being connected can be removed. <IMAGE>

Description

VARIABLE SIZE HOSE CONNECTOR This invention relates to a variable size hose connector.
With cooling system, latex hose connection, there are some matching inner bore diameters and moulded hose with two size of bore diameter.
For the latter with motor maintenance in mind, there are many variations in parts sizes, making even a temporarv repair difficult.
According to the present invention there is provided a variable size shaped connector between most hoses, via their inner bore.

Referring to the drawings Fig. 1--2-3, the connector made of moulded plastic fibre or nylon would be secured by any appropriate standard hose clip, once inserted into the bore of both connecting pipes or hoses.
The connector may be as in Fig.1, short and fised or as in Fig.3, extended with either a fixed or flexible body through 0-180 .
The sections in Fig.t A-F are removable if smaller than bore diameter.

Claims (7)

1) A variable size moulded hose connector, secured by hose ClipS7 once inserted into hot revs.
2) A variable size mould hose connector as claimed in Claim i, wherein to facilitate liquid flow there are removable sections.
3) A variable size moulded hose connector as claimed in Claim 1 or Claim 2 with internal moulding to facilitate liquid flow.
4) A variable size moulded hose connector as claimed in Claim 2 or Claim 3 with a flush fitting threaded air bleed screw.
5) A variable size moulded hose connector as claimed in Claim 4 with an extension tube fitted in place of the air bleed screw. The screw then fitted into the tube. end.
6) A variable size moulded hose connector as claimed in Claim 3, Claim 4 or Claim 5 with a rigid extended body passing through 0-l80 .
7) A variable size moulded hose connector as claimed in Claim 3 or Claim 4 or Claim 5 or Claim 6 with a flexible extended body to pass through variable angles.
