Abstract

A pivotable cable control arm is fitted to the handle of an electric motor mower by a clamp 5 in order to lay the cable out of the path of the mower on the outward and return cuts (Figs 3 and 4, not shown). This leaves the hands free to control the mower. <IMAGE>

Description

ELECTRIC CABLE CONTROL ARM This invention relates to an electric cable control arm suitable for electric motor mowers.
There is a device in use which slides on the mower handle to move the cable from left to right. But this does not keep the cable out of the return path of the mower.
According to the present invention there is provided, a means to lay the cable away from the path of the returning mower.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which Figure 1 shows in perspective the mower with the control arm in position which extends beyond the side of the mower.
Figure 2 illustrates the control arm and its components.
Figure 3 shows the control arm laying the cable to the right hand side of the mower.
Figure 4 shows the control arm laying the cable to the left hand side of the mower.
Refering to the drawing the control arm comprises two main parts which are 2 the arm and 5 the clamp.
In order to fix to the mower handle push clamp 5 over handle and tighten screw 4. The electric cable is pushed into cable holder 1. The arm is swivelled to the right as in Fig 3 to lay the cable to the right. On the reverse lane of cutting the arm is swivelled to the left as in Fig 4. To store the mower, the control arm is easily removed by undoing the tightening screw 4.

Claims (5)

1 A cable control arm comprising an arm that swivels from left to right, and a means to clamp it to the handle of a motor mower.
2 A cable control arm as claimed in claim 1 wherein means are provided to hold the cable.
3 A cable control arm as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2, wherein a swivel is provided to move the arm from left to right.
4 A cable control arm as claimed in any preceding claims which is adaptable for other machines. Where it is necessary to lay the cable away from the return path.
5 A cable control arm substantially as described herein with reference to Figs 1 - 4 of the accompanying drawings.
