Description

MULTI-STAGE HANGERS FOR SHOWER BATHS The present invention relates in general to a shower bath for SiLitkn in a domestic bathroom or in a public bath and, more particularly, to a hanger for the shower bath.
Conventionally, a shower bath installed in a bathroom or in a public bath comprises a flexible hose connected to a water supply pipe laid in a bathroom wall and a shower spout connected to the distal end of the flexible hose. In showering using the shower bath, the bather may retain the shower spout hung on a shower bath hanger mounted on the bathroom wall or separate the shower spout from the hanger and direct the spout to a desired part of his body while gripping the spout handle.
The conventional shower bath hanger mounted on the bathroom wall has a circular hanging hole which opens to the front and receives a hanging portion of the shower bath to be hung thereon. However, the shower bath hanger having such a cireular hanging hole can not help providing only one showering angle of the spout predetermined by a spout tilting angle defined by a configuration of the hanging hole. That is, the conventional shower bath hanger can not change the showering angle of the spout when the shower bath is used while the spout is hung on the hanger. In this regard, use of the above hanger is attended with inconvenience which is not negligible.
A multi-stage hanger for a shower bath in accordance with the present invention includes two or more through holes for receiving a hanging portion of the shower bath, the through holes varying in their tilting angles with respect to a hanger mounting wall, thus to change a showering angle of a spout of the shower bath in accordance with which through hole receives the hanging portion.
Embodiments of the present invention provide a multi-stage hanger for a shower bath in which the aforementioned problem introduced by the conventional hanger having one hanging hole can be overcome and which is provided with a plurality of hanging holes having different spout tilting angles. thus to allow a bather to select a desired showering angle of a shower spout by hanging the shower spout on one of the plurality of hanging holes of the hanger and to improve the practicality of the shower bath.
The tilting angles of the through holes preferably vary such that an outermost hole has a largest tilting angle while an innermost hole has a smallest tilting angle.
Preferred embodiments of the invention will now be described, by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Fig. i is a perspective view of a multi-stage hanger for a shower bath in accordance with an embodiment of tne present invention; Fig. 2 Is a plan view of the hanger of Fig. 1; Fig. 3 is a sectional view of tne hanger of this embodiment taken along the section line A-A of Fig.2; Fig. 4 is a side view of the hanger receiving a hanging portion of a shower bath therein, showing the operation of the hanger; Fig. 5 is a perspective view of a multl-stage hanger for a shower bath in accordance with another embodiment of the present invention; and Fig. 6 is a sectional view of the hanger of Fig. 5.
With reference to Figs. 1 to 4, there is shown a mult- stage hanger for a shower batn rn accordance with an embodiment of the present invention. The hanger 2 has a generally U-shaped configuration in a plan view as best seen in Fig. 2. The hanger 2 is provided with three rounded holes, that is, an innermost hole 5, a middle hole 6 and an outermost hole 7, for receiving a hanging portion of the shower bath.
At the hanging portion, a flexible hose 3 of the shower bath is connected to a shower spout 1. The three rounded holes 5, 6 and 7 communicate with each other and the outermost hole 7 opens to the front in order to provide a narrow opening 4.
The narrow opening 4 has such narrow width that it does not pass the larger diameter hanging portion of the shower bath but allows the small diameter flexible hose 3 to be passed.
Each of the three rounded holes 5, 6 and 7 of the hanger 2 varies in Its diameter such that Its upper end has the largest diameter while its lower end has the smallest diameter.
Thanking for the difference of the diameters of eacn hole, the tapered hanging portion of the shower bath is easily stably seated on the hole by simply laying the hanging portion on the hole after inserting the flexible hose 3 in the hole through the opening 4. In addition, the three holes 5, 6 and 7 vary In their inclination angles or their spout tilting angles with respect to a bathroom wall such that the outermost hole 7 has the largest inclination angle while the innermost hoìe 5 has the smallest inclination angle.
Turning to Flgs. 5 and 6, there is shown a multi-stage hanger for a shower bath in accordance with another embodiment of the present invention. Differently from the above primary embodiment of Figs. 1 to 4, this hanger 2' has two rounded holes S' and 7'. In the same manner as described for the primary embodiment, the outermost hole 7' opens to tne front in order to provide a narrow opening 4'. In this another embodiment, the general shape of the hanger 2' except for the number of the rounded holes formed in the hanger remains the same as in the primary embodiment and further explanation is thus not deemed necessary.
t should be understood that the hanger of this invention may be more lengthened and provided with four or more hanging holes in the lengthened space defined in the hanger.
In the drawings, the reference numeral ss denotes an anchor bolt for mounting the hanger on the bathroom wall and the numeral 9 or 9' denotes a bolt hole of the hanger for receiving the anchor bolt 6.
Since the three holes 5, 8 and 7 of the hanger 2 vary ,n their inclination angles or their spout tilting angles with respect to the bathroom wall such that the outermost hole 7 has the largest inclination angle while the innermost hole 5 has the sinai lest inclination angle, the bather selects a desired showering angle Of the shower spout 1 by hanging the hanging portion of the shower bath on one of the three hanging holes 5, 6 and 7 of the hanger 2. That is, when It 7s required to spray the water from the spout 1 in a longest distance, the hanging portion of the shower bath is hung on the innermost hanging hole 5 having the smallest tilting angle. When the water is to be sprayed from the spout in a middle distance, the hanging portion of the shower bath is hung on the middle hanging hole e having the middle tilting angle. On the contrary, the outermost hanging hole 1 of the hanger 2 makes the shower spout 1 to be tilted at the largest tilting angle, so that the spout 1 hung on this outermost hole 7 sprays the water in the shortest distance.
As described above, a shower bath hanger embodying the present invention Is provided with a plurality of spout hanging holes which vary in their inclination angles or their spout tilting angles with respect to the bathroom wall such that the outermost hole has tne largest inclinaition angle while the innermost hole has the smallest inclination angle.
In this regard, the bather selects a desired showering angle of the shower spout by hanging the hanging portion of the shower bath on one of the three hanging holes of the hanger.
Although preferred embodiments of the present invention have been disclosed for illustrative purposes, those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications, additions and substitutions are possible, without departing from the scope - of the invention as disclosed in the accompanying claims.
