Abstract
A Beans Processor has a Unit 1 containing a Basket Processing Bars 7 and Processing Plates 9 are releasably attached to the Unit 1 and can move within it by means of control devices. Soaked Beans placed in the Basket within the Unit 1 are caused to tub against one another, and against non-even surfaces of the Processing parts, causing the skin of the beans to come off. <IMAGE>
Description
BEANS PROCESSOR
This invention relates to a Beans Processor.
Beans are well known seed (used as food); with varieties of it existing. Examples are Broad Beans, Kidney Beans, Black
Eyed Beans, and others.
Beans however are not suitable for certain recipes unless the skin is first removed.
According to the present invention, there is provided a
Beans Processor which facilitates removal of the skin on
Beans.The Beans Processor comprises a Processing Unit which may have non-even inner surface, and having one or more compartments; Processing Basket with perforated details and non-even inner surface; Processing Bars (example spiral shaped with non-even surfaces; Processing Plates with non-even surfaces; Processing Bowl; Controls; Rotors;
Tray-Bed with perforation or sieve details; rake-scoop; with the Processing Bars and Processing Plates being adapted to turn or move within the Processing Unit, by means of the contols provided.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawing in which:
Figure 1 shows in perspective, the external view of the
Beans Processor;
Figure 2 shows in perspective, the Beans Processor when assembled;
Figure 3 illustrates some parts of the Beans Processor before assembly.
Referring to the drawing the Beans Processor comprises a
Processing Unit 1 having one or more compartments 2 as shown in Fig 1, and non-even inner surface. The Processing
Unit 1 is provided with a Processing Basket 3 with
perforated details as shown in Fig 3 and which also has non-even inner surface. The Processing Unit 1 has one or more openings 4 with lids 5, and means 6 (for example, a catch or similar means) for securing the lids 5 to the
Processing Unit 1 as shown Fig 2.
One or more Processing Bars 7 (for example spiral-shaped) with non-even surfaces, run through and are releasably attached to the Processing Unit 1 as shown in Fig 2. Means is provided externally for moving (for example turning) and controlling the Processing Bars 7 in the form of handles, pedals, electro-mechanical, electronical or similar devices 8, as shown in Fig 1. This is also used for arresting the movement of the Processing Bars 7.
In addition, the Beans Processor may be provided with
Processing Plates 9 of non-even surfaces 10 as shown in Fig 3 which are distributed within the Processing Unit 1 and are releasably attached to the Processing Bars 7, or the
Processing Unit 1 or to one another as shown in Fig 2.
Means is provided for moving and controlling the Processing
Plates 9.
Wet Beans is placed in the Processing Unit 1 or dry Beans
is soaked in a liquid during period of processing by
placing the dry Beans in the Processing Basket 3, and placing the Processing Basket 3 in the Processing Unit 1 containing the liquid. The Processing Bars 7 and the
Processing Plates 9 are then moved for example by rotating them in a circle through an angle of 3600, or back and forth through an angle less than this. The Processing Unit 1 and the Processing Basket 3 may also be adapted to move as appropriate depending on their shapes.
These movements cause the non-even surfaces of the
Processing Bars 7, the Processing Plates 9 and the
Processing Unit 1, or the Processing Basket 3 to rub against the Beans, as well as the Beans to rub against one another, and against the Processing parts mentioned. This rubbing process causes the skin of the Beans to come off, and the process is performed until the skin is completely peeled off the Beans.
At the end of the Peeling cycle, the mixture of Beans and skin may be transferred from the Processing Unit 1 or the
Processing Basket 3 unto the removable Tray-Bed 11 with perforation or sieve details 12, and which rests on the base of a Processing Bowl 13. One or more Rotors 14 are situated near or at the base of the Processing Bowl 13, beneath the removable Tray-Bed 11 as shown in Fig 3. The
Processing Bowl 13 is filled with water or other liquid up to a level, and means is provided (not shown) for activating the Rotor 14 and varying it's speed. The Rotor is then activated at a sufficient speed as to cause the lighter skin to rise to the surface of the liquid while the
Beans remain at the bottom on the Tray-Bed 11. The
Rake-Scoop 15 is then used to collect the skin before it settles on top of the Beans. This cycle is perfomed until the Beans is completely free of skin.
