Abstract

A vehicle anti-theft device comprises a handbrake having a removable handle which incorporates a key. The key operates a micro switch which cuts out the vehicle ignition when the handle is removed, preventing release of the brake and running of the engine. The handbrake mechanism and the micro switch is protected by a steel case. <IMAGE>

Description

ANTI-THEFT DEVICE DESCRIPTION OF HANDBRAKE TWIST LOCK The handbrake twist lock is an anti-theft device.
The key head is just like a key insert, turn to lock in and use as a normal handbrake. Twist after pulling handbrake on, to un@@ck, the lock as now come into contact with a micro switch engine cut out which as two affects, it stops a thief from cutting the cable because the vehicle still wontstart, the other being the owner can not start the vehicle with out useing keyhead after pulling hand brake on. Remove keyhead now this is very visual so its an added deterent.
The main workings of the hand brake twist lock is housed in a steel box with a steel slide protection.
This system can also hold a key to ownership. A thief will find it hard to explain why he needs a new hand brake should he ever get away with a vehicle, the joy rider would probably give up on such a system.

Claims (5)

1 The handbrake twist-lock is a keyhandle known as a keyhead when keyhead is inserted it becomes a fully operational handbrake, the main works are housed in a steel case.
2 A handbrake twistlock as claimed in claim 1 the main case that houses the main works also holds in its housing a micro cut out switch, when the handbrake is a applied and key head removed cut out switch for engine is operational.
3 Handbrake twistlock as claimed in Claim 1 or Claim 2 is a very visual deterent when twistlock keyhead is removed.
4 Handbrake twistlock as claimed in Claim 2 or Claim 3 the keyhead slides into the main housing so hand brake may be used.
5 Handbrake twist-lock as claimed in Claim 3 or Claim 4 when keyhead inserted into housing and turned to lock in it swivels a bar so when you press the botton it releases the handbrake.
