A hydraulic support used to support the roof of coal-mine etc. comprises thin protective sleeve 7 fitted on the surfaces of the movable stem 2 extended from the hydraulic cylinder 1 and on the outer surface of the hydraulic cylinder 1 and its extending section which are all made of aluminium-alloy, so as to avoid sparks being struck from the aluminium alloy. <IMAGE>

Description

a shielded separate hydraulic support of light alloy The invention relates to a separate hydraulic support of light - alloy, such as aluminium-alloy, which is used to support the roof of coal-mine pit, etc.
In the prior art, the cylinder, the movable stem and the extending section which constitute the separate hydraulic support are made of aluminium-alloy so as to reduce the weight of the support itself. However, up to now, the aluminiumalloy material hasn t passed the test for blast proof, then the separate hydraulic support in which some parts are made of aluminium--alloy hasn t obtained the certificate of blast proof either. Therefore, the device is prohibited to be still used in the coal-mine pit as a result of the risk of gas blast caused by spark resulting from bumping, according to the regulation issued by the Ministry of Energy of the PRC.
The objective of the invention is to provide a separate hydraulic support without the naked surface of aluminium-alloy.
For realizing the objective of the invention, the present invention provides a separate hydraulic support of aluminium - alloy, wherein the naked surface of the movable stem extended from the hydraulic cylinder and the outer surface of the hydraulic cylinder or its extending section which are all made of aluminiumalloy must be fitted with the protective sleeves. Thus, there appears no naked surface of the aluminium-alloy parts and in the operation, no spark can occur by accidental bumping of the aluminium-alloy parts so as to eliminate the risk of gas blast.
The merits of the invention are: simple structure; safe and reliable operation and offering opportunity still to use the separate hydraulic support in the coal-mine pit on a large scale.
The further detailed description of the invention will be given in reference to the attached drawing, which shows a schematic view of the separate hydraulic support of aluminium alloy according to the invention with the stem extended.
As shown in the drawing, the separate hydraulic support of aluminium - alloy comprises a movable stem of aluminium -- alloy 2, a hydraulic cylinder of aluminium - alloy 1, its extending section of afuminium - alloy 3, and a top cover 4, and a handle 5 as well as a bottom base 6 which are made of steel. A thin protective steel sleeve 7 is fitted on the naked surface of the movable stem 2 extended from the hydraulic cylinder 1 and on the outer surface of the hydraulic cylinder 1 and its extending section 3 which are all made of aluminium-alloy.
The sleeves 7 with the movable stem 2, the hydraulic cylinder 1 and its extending section 3 form an integral assembly so that the whole hydraulic support has no the naked surface of aluminium-alloy so as to avoid the risk of gas blast.
In the operation, the cylinder 1 is filled up with hydraulic oil through a three- way valve 8. Then, with pressure increasing, the movable stem 2 is extended from cylinder. In reverse, if the movable stem 2 is intended to be withdrawn, hydraulic oil is discharged through three-way valve 8, and with the help of the spring 9, the movable stem 2 returns to a withdrawn position.

Claims (4)

CLAIMS:
1. A separate hydraulic support of aluminium-alloy which is used to support the roof of coal-mine pit, comprising a cylinder of aluminium-alloy, an extending section of aluminium-alloy, a movable stem of aluminium-alloy, a top cover, a handle and a bottom base characterized in that a protective sleeve is fitted on the naked surface of movable stem extended from the hydraulic cylinder and the outer surface of the hydraulic cylinder and its extending section which are made of aluminium-alloy.
2. A separate hydraulic support as claimed in Claim 1 wherein the protective sleeve is made of steel.
3. A separate hydraulic support substantially as described herein with reference to the accompanying drawing.
4. A protective sleeve for use in a separate hydraulic support as claimed in any one of Claims 1 to 3.
