Abstract
227,366. Larrey, T., and Godard, L. July 7, 1924. Jointing tubes to flat headers. - Each superheater tube 4 has a solid end 24, Fig. 6, and the open end of each is screwed into a hollow conical plug 25 provided with a flange 31 at one end and a screw thread and nut at the other, which, with packing rings 32, 29 make a tight joint with the outside plates 19, 20 respectively of the superheater header. Holes 26, 27 through the plug communicate with the compartments 13 and 14 of the header and a metal strip 33 divides the tube 4 and plug 25 into compartments closed at the plug end, through which the steam circulates.
