Abstract

Steam regenerative accumulators.-In a steam regenerative accumulator into which steam is admitted below the surface of the water, the movement set up in the water by the entering steam is assisted and is continued when the steam supply ceases by auxiliary mechanical means. The circulation of water caused by the entry of steam through openings 2 in the steam pipe 1 is intensified by worm conveyers 9, propellers 5, pumps, or the like, which cause the water to pass downwards between partitions 3 and then upwards through the main water space 8.
