Abstract
A flexible motoring aid to be used in cases of emergency to summon the correct emergency service comprises a reflective material 4 with a reflective backing 6 and having a translucent coloured finish 8 allowing wording to be high-lighted in a reflective manner. The emergency aid can be stored within the vehicles front compartments for ease of use and accessability, being totally flexible (Fig 3). The notice is highly reflective using reflective and translucent finishes, giving maximum visibility day and night and clearly defines the call for Police notification from passing traffic. Suction pads are provided, 12, for fixing to internal window of vehicles, the internal usage being of particular essential requirement in cases of isolation, illness and fear. The flexible reflective combination in the design is highlighted with coloured translucent finish for visual impact during the day. <IMAGE>
Description
EMERGENCY MOTORING AID
This invention relates to an Emergency Motoring Aid for the public road user.
An aid in the form of a display is presently recognized for the disabled and elderly persons to put in the window of their home by way of hook fixing or self adhesive plastic. They are designed using brightly coloured flourescent material of plastic or card but can only be clearly visible during daylight,as the flourescent colour creates a blured effect and is undetectable at night.
There is however nothing to provide the motorist with an emergency aid which is capable of giving sufficient notification to summon the help from recognizable emergency services - Police.
The present invention herewith, provides the motorist and or passengers with a flexible emergency aid enabling in-vehicle storage and accessability. It comprises of a flexible backing which has a reflective coating. A translucent two colour finish, outlines the wording representing the call for Police notice and enabling the whole emergency aid to be of reflective properties, whilst be totally flexible for storage in the glove or front compartments.
When required the aid can be unrolled and placed on rear, side or appropriate windows from the inside by way of suction pads, allowing usage without the necessity to leave the vehicle in cases of fear or illness.
The reflective materials used give maximum visibility to the aid both day and night and in extremely poor conditions the message is detectable and clearly legible also from far away distances.
A description of the invention is described by way of example with reference to the drawing attached.
No. 1 illustrates the aid as applied in emergency situations.
No. 2 illustrates the aid in perspective with informative explanation.
No. 3 illustrates the flexibility and practibility - rolled for
storage.
With reference to the drawing, the emergency aid comprises of a piece of flexible material 4 which has a reflective coating 6 and transulucent coloured finish 8 allowing wording to highlight in reflective manner 10.
Fig 1 shows the emergency aid in position in the case of requiring assistance from recognized authority of the Police. The fixing by way of suction pads to vehicle windows 12
The invention is in the form of the practibility of a flexible mobile aid to inform the necessary authority and in using the reflective and translucent products together to produce a flexible emergency aid for public use.
The aid as in Fig 3 can be rolled and stored within the vehicle as required
Claims (5)
- CLAIMS 1 An emergency motoring aid providing the road user with a portable flexible emergency aid for in-vehicle accessability with ease of storage., enabling the motorist to summon the correct assistance in cases of emergency by way of reflective message and fixing to appropriate rear or other windows of vehicle. The reflective material being given a translucent two colour finish for maximum visibility day and night.
- 2 An emergency motoring aid as claimed in Claim 1 wherein flexible means the use of certain materials put together in the form as described giving the practical use of emergency sign for public use.
- 3 An emergency motoring aid as claimed in Claim 1 or Claim 2 wherein fixing means providing and emergency aid with suction pads for ease of use and reuseability.
- 4 An emergency motoring aid as claimed in Claim 2 or Claim 3 wherein reflective means with translucent finish have been provided for maximum visibility and clear legible message for public usage.
- 5 An emergency motoring aid substancially as described herein with reference to Figures 1 - 3 of the accompanying drawing.
