Lamps combined with loudspeaking telephones. - The sound-emitting horn of a telephone receiver supports an artificial light at the open end thereof, and serves to diffuse or reflect the light. A loud-speaking telephone 11 may be contained within an ornamental vase 12, and an electric light bulb 18 may be supported on a bracket 17 at the open end of the sound horn 16 of glass which may be smooth cut, or adapted in any way to diffuse light. A lamp bulb may be supported by an annular bracket externally of the sound horn, the external surface of the bracket being suitably treated to reject light. The bracket member may in either case support an ornamental shade 19. One of the Provisional Specifications describes also the following features :-A table lamp with a loud speaker mounted at the upper end of the stand between bracket portions carrying electric light bulbs, an inverted cone carried by the means supporting the shade functioning as the horn and serving to reflect light from the bulbs. In the case of a lamp with a single bulb, the loud speaker is mounted on a bracket on the ring which supports the ordinary lamp shade and is above the reflector and associated with the apex thereof. The leads for the loud speaker and the bulb may be brought up through the interior of the stand. In a pendant type of electric lamp, the loud speaker is mounted externally of the reflector.
