Storing under pressure.-An air or gas receiver is composed of two or more open-ended sections held together by a leak-preventing ring which bridges adjacent sections, and a rigid ring which encloses the leak-preventing ring and resists the internal pressure. The joint may be constructed as described in Specification 149,381, [Class 99 (i), Pipes and tubes. Joints &c. for]. The sections a, b of a receiver are provided with flanges c, held together by bolts d and spaced apart by tubular distance pieces e surrounding the bolts. They are joined by a fluid-tight bridge ring f enclosed by a rigid housing ring g. This ring is made in four sections bolted together by flanges i.
