Pencil holders. - In propelling pencils of the kind in which the lead is projected through a tip which is provided with internal ribs to support the lead and prevent it from rotating within the pencil, the ribbed end is of non-circular section and is of sufficient size to provide clearance spaces 11, Fig. 3, between the lead 7 and the inner wall of the tip intermediate of the ribs 10, enabling the dust produced by the ribs biting into the lead to escape at the end of tre tip. As shown in Fig. 2, the inner end of the tip 2 is provided with screw threads 9 to engage the threaded lower end of the lead guide 4 of a screw-propelling pencil 1.
