Abstract
A pool wall comprises interconnected panels 1, each with an inner liner retaining flap 6 actuated by a cam 5 arranged to tension a rope 4, the flap holding the top edge of the liner. Adjacent panels are interconnected by bars 3 passing through guides 2 on intercalated projections extending from the panel edges. <IMAGE>
Description
Interlocking Panel System
This invention relates to an interlocking panel system.
The Durpose of these panels when interlocked, and lined with an appropriate material, is to provide an above ground pool of variable dimensions according to the number of panels used.
According to the present invention there is provided an interlocking panel system comprising a panel, an inner flap retained by rope, six retaining bar guides, a retaining bar and tensioning wedge through which the rope retaining the inner flap is threaded.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of examole with reference to the accomPanying drawing in which:
Figure 1 shows a single panel;
Figure 2 shows an alternative elevation of the same panel;
Figure 3 shows two interlocked panels;
Figure 4 shows a cross-sectional view of a panel with inner
flap in the open position to receive pool liner;
Figure 5 shows a cross-sectional view of a panel wit the
inner flap in the closed position clamping the ool liner in place; and
Figure 6 shows a possible configuration of interlocking
panels to provide an above ground pool.
Referring to the drawing the interlocking panel system comprises a panel 1, an inner flap 6 retained by rope 4, six retaining bar guides 2, a retaining bar 3 and a tensioning wedge 5 through which the rope 4 retaining the inner flap 6 is threaded.
In order to interlock two panels as shown in figure 3 the retaining bar 3 is withdrawn from the retaining bar guides 2. The staggered tooth ends of the two panels are then slotted together and retained in position by returning the retaining bar 3 through the now overlapping retaining bar guides 2 of the two panels.
Interlocking panels continue to be added until a pool of the desired dimensions is achieved, one possible configuration being shown in figure 6.
In order to receive a pool liner 7 as shown in figure 4 the inner flap 6 is placed in the open position with tensioning wedge 5 as shown.
In order to clamp the pool liner 7 in position the tensioning wedge 5 is rotated as shown in figure 5 pulling the inner flap 6 to the closed position.
Claims (4)
1 An interlocking panel system comprising a panel, an
inner flap retained by rope, six retaining bar guides, a
retaining bar and a tensioning wedge through which the
rope retaining the inner flap is threaded, with the
purpose of providing an above ground pool, when lined
with an appropriate material, of variable dimensions
according to the number of panels used.
2 An interlocking panel system as claimed ;n Claim 1
wherein adjacent panels are interlocked by the slotting
together of the staggered tooth ends of the two panels
and retained in position by the return of a retaining
bar passing through the overlapping retaining bar guides positioned on the adjacent panels.
3 An nterlocking panel system as claimed in Claim 1 or
Claim 2 wherein the appropriate sool liner is clamped in
position by an inner flap pulled flat against the panel
wall by means of the rotation of a tensioning wedge.
4 An lnterlocknng panel system substantially as described
herein with reference to Figures 1-6 of the accompanying
drawing.
