Abstract

An espagnolette (1) for bolting doors or window sashes when closed comprises a housing (2) with a control means by means of which an operating rod (3) can be displaced in its longitudinal direction proportional to the housing (2). The operating rod (3) is connected with the door or window sash by moans of sliding shoes (4) and has locking pins (5) for engagement with a strike in the door or window sash. The operating (3) has an essentially C-shaped section so that its outwards open interior through an oblong slot can engage and secure the shoes (4) and part of the housing (2) slidingly in the longitudinal direction of the rotating rod. Through this measure the built-in width of the device is determined by the width of the operating rod, and the rod is not weakened by perforations for the shoes. <IMAGE>
