Abstract
The dog muzzle is a lightweight waterproof muzzle made of plastic and polyurethane material with a check/choke neck control strap which alleviates the need for a collar or check chain. The check/choke neck side control also avoids muzzle twist. The correct size muzzle will completely secure any dog from biting if fitted correctly and the check/choke strap will assist with control. It is adjustable and the muzzle can be folded and carried in the pocket when not in use. The check/choke control can be fitted on either or both sides of the muzzle.

TECHNICAL FIELD. This invention relates to a lightweight fabric
Dog Muzzle with a unique check/choke control ring on the neck strap and which can be manufactured in several sizes to fit virtually any dog.
BACKGROUND. Dog muzzles are fairly common manufactured in leather, solid plastic box types or in fabric. They are fitted on the dog to secure the dog from biting if the dog is left, or, used in conjunction with a check chain/ collar and lead when they are being walked.
There are also several head control devices available but all cause the devices to twist because they are clipped under the dogs jaw or neck.
ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL FEATURES. The present invention is to provide a lightweight waterproof fabric dog muzzle which can be folded and carried in the pocket when not in use. The unique feature is the neck strap providing a check/choke collar combined within the muzzle which aids control. The neck strap and check/choke ring can be mounted on left, right or both sides of the muzzle and which pulls from the side thus avoiding muzzle twist.
EXAMPLE. A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by the way of example with reference to the accompanying two drawings:

PANEL B.
Referring to the drawings, the muzzle body is made of a lightweight plastic sealed canvas fabric which ensures that it has adequate strength and is waterproof. The straps of the muzzle are again polyurethane webbing for strength. The clip is plastic quick release with adjuster. Nickel rings are fitted.
Figure "A" and "B" can be interchanged with the check/choke control on the right which is normal for walking a dog or on the left of the muzzle for right hand control. The check choke control in Figure "A" can also be put on both sides for more essential restraining purposes i.e. in a veterinary surgery or grooming parlour. The muzzle can also be made with Figure wBn i.e. no check/choke control on both sides which reverts it to a normal lightweight muzzle.
Claims (11)
1. The muzzle will be manufactured in five standard sizes XL.40cm. L.35cm. M.30cm. S.25cm. & XS.20cm. To measure a dog for a muzzle a tape is passed around the dog muzzle below the eyes and the correct muzzle should be double the corresponding measurement from 7 to 8 on Figure "A". Muzzles can also be made to measure.
2. The muzzle is lightweight, waterproof and can be folded and carried in the pocket when not in use.
3. The unique feature of the muzzle is the check/choke control neck strap (Fig A 3) made as part of the muzzle and alleviates the need for either a collar or check chain. The lead can be attached to the check/choke control ring-strap on the muzzle which will give better control over the dog than a collar or check chain and if the dog struggles to free itself the neck control strap will tighten the muzzle.
4. Due to the fact that the check/choke control ring is on the side it avoids muzzle twist which is found in all other head control devices.
5. The muzzle of the correct size and fitted correctly will completely secure any dog from biting or putting any person or other animal in danger.
6. The muzzle will also subdue most dogs control excitement and stop incessant barking and in addition is comfortable for the dog.
7. The gap between the horizontal strap and the body of the muzzle Figure "A" 9. allows the dog to exhale from the side of the mouth.
8. The muzzle is easy to fit and has a quick release clip for easy removal.
9. The muzzle can be adjusted for snug or loose fitting depending on requirement.
10 The check/choke control Fig. A 3 can be fitted on left, right or both sides of the muzzle for control purposes.
11. It can also be manufactured and used as a normal muzzle without the check/choke control.
