Abstract

The present invention relates to a mobile arrangement for airing clothes outside particularly suitable for use in residential highrise buildings. Clothes are hung onto the frame in the room or passageway before pulling outside the window for airing so that the danger of falling out of the window can be avoided. The frame comprises supports (6) for clothes hangers slidable along open guide rails (4). The frame is secured to the ceiling by supports (8) or to a wall in an alternative arrangement (fig 3 not shown). The frame has a covering (1) to prevent soiling of the drying clothes by material from above. <IMAGE>

Description

Mobile arrangement for airing clothes Technical field The present invention relates to an arrangement for airing clothes in the sun, particularly suitable for use in residential highrise buildings.
Background of the Invention In Southeast Asia, particularly in Hong Kong and Singapore, space is so precious that residential buildings are getting higher and higher and the airing of clothes poses a difficulty for the residents.
The current clothes-airing frames or the insertion type of clothes-airing pole available in public housing are troublesome and inconvenient in use. The former requires the operator to incline his body to hang the clothes and to give the rope a drag every time a piece of clothing is to be hung. The latter demands great effort from the operator for he has to hold a 2-meter long bamboo pole fully loaded with wet clothes and insert it, with an inclining body, into a hollow steel tube fixed onto the exterior wall. For both two methods mentioned above, the operator's hands (or waist) have to be exposed outside the window. This is very dangerous. Actually, a number of fatal accidents have been fouled caused by accidentally falling out of the window in such operations.
Purpose of the Invention In view of the above problems, the present invention has for its purpose to provide a mobile arrangement for airing clothes, which allows the operator to safely hang the clothes piece by in the room or passageway before putting them all at one time outside the window for airing by means of a mobile frame. Thus, the previous dangerous way of operation that needs stretching out the hands and inclining the body beyond the window is satisfactory overcome and at the same time it keeps the clothes from being drenched by rain and contaminated by falling dirty objects.
Summary of the Invention The purpose of the present invention is accomplished through the following measures. The open guide rails are respectively secured on supporters. A mobile clothes-airing frame is inserted between the said open guide rails and is moveable along the open guide rails by means of its longer sides having gliding function. In the middle portion of the frame, there are arranged several long flat shape bars with some apertures punched thereon for hanging the clothes hanger. An upper cover is secured to two upper cover supports, which in turn may be fixed to the frame. Between the longer side of the frames (the glide posts) and the guide rails an abrasive-resistant plastics may be provided or pulleys may be provided to reduce the friction between the frame and the open guide rails. Both open guide rails are provided with safety locating pins for locating the mobile clothes-airing frame when it is being drawn in and pushed out.
Brief description on the drawings Fig. 1 is a perspective view of an embodiment of the arrangement for airing clothes according to the present invention.
Fig. 2 is a partial sectional view of the embodiment shown in Fig. 1.
Fig. 3 is a side view of another embodiment of the arrangement for airing clothes according to the present invention.
Fig. 4 is a partial sectional view of another embodiment of the arrangement for airing clothes according to the present invention.
Description on Preferred Embodiments Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of an embodiment of the arrangement for airing clothes according to the present invention. In the drawing, numeral 8 represents four stationary supports, each pair being defined by a beam 7 for the distance therebetween. The beams 7 are secured on the supports by screws, and the length thereof is adjustable according to the width of a window. A right angle bend is provided at the upper and lower ends of the stationary supports 8, respectively with the upper one for fixing the support to a ceiling after being drilled, and the lower one for supporting the open guide rails 4, which are placed on the lower bend of the support 8 before it is secured with a hooked steel plate designated by numeral 10 (see Fig. 2).
In Fig. 1, two glide posts designated by numeral 3 and two lateral bars designated by numeral 5 constitute a rectangular clothes-airing frame, wherein the glide posts 3 being able to glide along the open guide rails 4. In the middle portion of the frame, there are provided several long, flat bars 6 with some apertures drilled thereon, through which hangers may be hooked in. In order to increase the slidability between the glide post 3 and the guide rails, an abrasive plastic material 12 is provided therebetween.
In Fig. 1, numeral 1 represents an upper cover of the mobile arrangement for airing clothes according to the present invention, and numeral 2 represents supports for the upper cover. The upper cover 1 is fixed to supports 2, which in turn can be secured to the moveable clothes-airing frame. Thus, the cover 1 is integrated with the clothes-airing frame and can be extended outside the window or dragged into the room together with the clothes-airing frame, avoid-ing the clothes aired below from being drenched by rain and contaminated by dirty objects or water thrown from above.
To air the clothes, first the mobile clothes-airing frame is dragged into the room, and the clothes to be aired are subsequently hung on and then the clothes-airing frame is pushed out, thus avoiding the danger of inclining the body out of the window to do the airing of clothes. Furthermore, stopping means 9 are provided on opposite ends of the longer sides (glide posts) of the mobile clothes-airing frame to avoid the moving frame from sliding off the guide rail.
Fig. 3 shows further embodiment of the present invention wherein the stationary supports are shaped in a triangular form, with one rectangular side thereof fastened together with the rails, and another rectangular side secured to a wall.
Fig. 4 is a portion of the sectional view of another embodiment of the present invention, wherein pulleys are arranged between the longer sides of the clothes-airing frame and the open guide rails to reduce the friction therebetween.
The mobile arrangement for airing clothes according to the present invention can be used both outside the window and inside the room.
The above described is merely several embodiments of the present invention, while other obvious improvements and modifications will all be within the scope of protection for the present invention.
