Abstract

222,651. Wentz, J. L. Sept. 11, 1923. Adjustably supporting portable conveyers and elevators.-The upper end of the conveyer is supported by struts 6 mounted on the axle 8 of the wheels 9 and pivotally connected to a nut 5 mounted on a screw 1 which is mounted in bearings 2, 3 on the conveyer framework 4. The screw 1 is connected by bevel gearing to a shaft 14 driven by belt gearing 20 from a shaft 19 which is preferably driven by the motor 21 actuating the conveyer. The belt 20 is normally loose, but can be tightened by moving a pivoted arm 24 when the conveyer is to be adjusted.
