Casings; exhibiting moving advertisements.- A combined advertising apparatus for displaying illuminated advertisements and samples of goods, and a coin-freed machine for delivering sample goods comprises upper and lower glazed cabinets 16, 15, Fig. 1, illuminated by electric lamps within each cabinet connected to a suitable source of supply. The panels 17 of the lower cabinet 15 are used for fixed advertisements painted or otherwise fixed upon the glass. Within the upper cabinet 16 is a box 30 having a number of compartments 30a for displaying samples, the box being mounted on a vertical shaft 24 which is rotated by an electric motor 19 driving through friction discs 20, 21 a vertical shaft 22 connected by a cord and pulley reduction gearing to the shaft 24. One or more coin.freed mechanisms for selling samples or other packet goods are secured to the top 25 of the lower cabinet. Delivery of articles stored in piles; storage. -Each pile of goods is carried by a platform 37 sliding between metal channels 36 and being raised by weights attached to cords 42 passing over pulleys. The cords are attached to lugs 37<a> of the platform which slide on guiding rods. The topmost articles passes through a slot in the cabinet top 25 into a slot in a delivery slide 53 which can be pulled out after the insertion of a coin, the article being then pressed out of the slot in the slide by a spring 85. Filling storage receptacles.-A section 36a of the front channel 36 of the storage receptacle is hinged at 36<b> to allow the platform 37 to be loaded. Coin action, weight, mechanical-connection, and multiple-coin. - The delivery slide is normally locked by a weighted lever 57 on the slide engaging over a fixed ledge, A coin inserted in a slot 45 tilts the lever to release the slide. The lever is slotted to allow a small coin to pass through to the money-box. The Specification, as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a), comprises also a construction, Fig. 4 (Cancelled), in which three coins are required to release the slide 53. A pivoted lever 77 on the slide is depressed out of engagement with a fixed pin 79 by a projection 76 on a rotary coin carrier when this has made one complete revolution. The carrier is turned by a knob and is normally locked by a spring-controlled pawl 72 engaging one of three notches 70. The carrier comprises two discs with filling pieces 65 providing three interconnected pockets 66 so that a small coin may drop through. The first proper coin 67 inserted projects from a pocket and raises the pawl 72 allowing the carrier to be turned through one-third of a revolution. The two succeeding coins act similarly. A fixed rod 86 coacts with a projection 84a on the lever 77 to hold this depressed and out of the path of the coin carrier projection 76 when the delivery slide is being operated.
