Abstract

220,418. Davidson, J. June 26, 1923. Two-stroke-cycle engines.-In engines having a common combustion chamber for all the cylinders, the pistons 6 are formed with extensions 8 shaped to register with the surface 3 of the combustion chamber and to fill the same except for the space 11 between the piston extensions and a chamber in the combustion head. Portions of the extensions may be removed or omitted to increase the size of the combustion space. Such removal may, in combination with the adjacent portions of the cylinder head, form a spherical combustion chamber.
