Description

SPECIFICATION Independent type keyboard and disk driver cover Rapid development of hi-tech industry recently makes computer very useful and generally affordable. Keyboard is generally protected by cover to prevent from invasion of dust, insects and other foreign particles, and to prevent from unwanted input or operation on keyboard which may disturb computer's function. Therefore, using of keyboard cover is necessary. However, the conventional keyboard cover has a lot of disadvantages. As shown in Fig. 1, a perspective view of a conventional keyboard cover, an extra space is required for putting on the conventional keyboard cover after removing it from the keyboard, and the conventional keyboard cover does not provide any suitable space for putting of documents to be referred during keyboard operation, and thus operator's efficiency is affected.Operator's efficiency has not been improved following the progress of computer.
Furthermore, no cover has been used for disk driver which requires protection and prevention from invasion of dust, insects and foreign particles too. Absence of such protection will certainly affects normal operation of computer and may cause trouble. In view of these disadvantages, the inventor created the present invention-independent Type Keyboard and Disk Driver Cover to eliminate these disadvantages.
Therefore, the main objective of the present invention is to provide keyboard and disk driver protection to prevent from invasion of dust, insects and other foreign particles, to provide a space for putting of documents to be referred during operation at the best position to read, and to provide a place for putting of disk envelopes to prevent from missing.
Another objective of the present invention is to provide a keyboard cover to be incorporated with keyboard in order to eliminate the need of an extra space for placing of the cover after opening the cover.
The present invention relates to a cover, particularly to a kind of independent type keyboard and disk driver covers. The keyboard cover is a protecting cover which can prevent from invasion of dust, insects and other foreign particles into the keyboard and provides a space for putting of documents to be referred during keyboard operation as well as a space for keeping of stationery. The disk driver cover can prevent from invasion of dust, insects and other foreign particles into disk driver and provides a space for keeping of disk envelopes notes, papers, etc on it.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of a conventional keyboard cover.
Figure 2 is a perspective view of a keyboard cover according to the present invention.
Figure 3 is a perspective view of a horizontal type disk driver cover according to the present invention.
Figure 4 is a perspective view of a vertical type disk driver cover according to the present invention.
Figure 5 is a side view illustrating using of the keyboard cover.
Figure 6 is a perspective view illustrating application of the present invention.
The present invention is described below with reference to a preferred embodiment and the attached drawings.
Please refer to Fig. 2, a perspective view of a keyboard protector according to the present invention. The keyboard cover (10) is in a rectangular form. On its front side there is a long opening (11) for placing of documents. Each end of the long opening (11) has a small round hole (12). The cover (10) is hinged to a base (20) by means of two pins (13). The long opening (11) is fitted with a moveable rectangular plate (14) which has a short cylindrical post (15) at each end for incorporating with the long opening (11).
The base (20) is composed of a board incorporated with three plates of different heights. The board has two rectangular openings (21) between its front plate (22) and intermediate plate (23). When the supports (25) of a keyboard (24) are placed in the rectangular openings (21), the height of the front plate (22) is to support the keyboard (24) at the bottom and the back plate (23) is just behind the keyboard (24) so that a meoment is existing on the base (20) due to the front plate (22) and the intermediate plate (23). The front plate (22) and the intermediate plate (23) are designed perpendicular to the board of the base (20). The back plate (26) is designed on the back side of the base (20). The back plate (26) is a slant board declining toward the intermediate plate (23). Its top is a curved surface turning slightly outward. Two boards are placed between ends of the plates (22 and 23). One of these boards has a hole (27) for passing through of cable.
Please refer to Fig. 3, a perspective view of a horizontal type disk driver cover. The disk driver cover (30) is a rectangular cover structure. Its two lateral boards has two respective parallel protections each with a pin hole (31) and a rectangular opening (32) below the pin hole (31). Such rectangular openings (32) may be omitted for some certain types of disk drivers and for enclosing purpose. The horizontal type disk driver cover (30) is hinged to a holder (34) by means of two pins (33).
The holder (34) is in the form of a board with a side board at each lateral side. Each side board has a pin hole (35). Between the side boards there are two pieces of parallel slant plates (36). A two-side adhesive tape (37) is adhered to the bottom of the holder (34). The disk driver cover (30) is hinged to the holder (34) by means of pins (33) at the pin holes (31 and 35).
Please refer to Fig. 4, a perspective view of a vertical type disk driver cover. The disk driver cover (4C) is in the form of a board with both ends fixed to a vertical disk driver and a front side in then form of a curved surface turning slightly outward to ease opening.of closing of the cover (40). The vertical type disk driver cover (40) can be opened for 90 degrees or more to prevent from any interference with operation of the disk driver.
Please refer to Fig. 5, a side view illustrating the use of the keyboard cover according to the present invention. To install the keyboard cover (10), the keyboard (24) is first placed on the base (20) with its supports (25) in the rectangular openings (21). Then, since the front plate (22) is supporting the bottom of the keyboard (24) and the back of the keyboard (24) is just in touch with the intermediate plate (23), the keyboard cover (10) can be turned to cover or open the keyboard (24).
Please refer to Fig. 6 for use of the horizon- tal type disk driver cover (30) which is hinged to the holder (34) by means of pins (33). The holder (34) is fixed to the top of a horizontal type disk driver by means of the two-side adhesive tape (37).
As for the vertical type disk driver cover (40), it is to be attached to vertical type disk driver directly.
Upon using of the present invention, the horizontal type disk driver cover must be opened before removal of disk from or instalation of disk to the disk driver. It must be closed after installation of disk. Disk envelopes can be put between two pieces of plates (36) of the holder (34), a suitable place for putting of disk envelopes to avoid misplaced. Other documents such as notes can be put on the plate (36) too. The surface of the horizontal type disk driver cover (30) can be adhered with a Chinese Radicals Chart to ease input in Chinese computer.
A moment is existing by the arrangement of the base (20), the front plate (22) and the intermediate plate (23) so that the keyboard cover can be rested on the back plate (26) stably after opening. While opening the keyboard cover (10), the moveable plate (14) is turning backward so that document can rest on the long opening (11); to ease operation of the keyboard. The position of the long opening (11) is the best position for document to be referred in operation of the keyboard. After removing the document thereon and closing the keyboard cover (10), the moveable plate (14) will turn downward to close the long opening (11).
As for the vertical disk driver cover (40), the disk driver is sheltered by a board.
In conclusion, the present invention has the following merits and characteristics while using on computer system.

Claims (4)

1. Use of the keyboard cover according to the present invention eliminates the need of an extra space for placing of the conventional cover for protection of keyboard after removal of the cover from the keyboard. Opening and closing of the keyboard cover according tothe present invention are very easy and it eliminates the inconveniences in using of the conventional cover. Furthermore, the keyboard cover according to the present invention provides a space for putting of documents at a position which is deemed the best place for keyboard operator to read during operation.
2. A space is provided between the front plate and the intermediate plate for placing of pencils, ruler, . . . stationery.
