Abstract

A board game uses two polyhedron alphabetic fourteen sided dice 2. The dice when thrown will give two key letters of which one or both must be used in answering a question taken from a pack of question cards (Fig. 6). Using letters from an alphabet rack (Fig. 4), an answer is given on the letter and score counter (Fig. 3). Five points are awarded for each of the first three letters of the answer, ten for the second three letters, and twenty points are awarded for each remaining letter. If only one key letter is used, the score is the score on the rack. If two key letters are used, the score is doubled. If a key letter starts the word the score is doubled and if a key letter ends the word the score is doubled again. A note pad (Fig. 5) is provided to keep a record of all the scores. The game can be terminated at any time. The winner is the player with the highest score. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Board game This invention relates to a board game using a 14 sided 'dice'.
The invention is described in the accompanying drawing as follows: Figure 1 shows the polyhedron 'Dice' in perspective which consists of 12 equal triangular sides and two rectangular sides opposite to each other.
Figure 2 shows an example of the Dice which have printed on them the letters of the alphabet printed as to thirteen different letters on each Dice and one star on each dice.
Thereby using all 26 letters of the alphabet.
Fig. 2 also shows alphabet and score racks. Further that there is a board on which place markings show the position for the said racks and that there is a packet of quiz cards.
Fig. 3 sets out the rules of the game.
RULES TO PLAY Assemble all the game components on the Board.
Fig. 7. Place Cards Fig. 6 face down, each player then takes a scoring rack, Fig. 4. Then in turn each player throws the two dice, Fig. 2. This will give him his key letters. He then turns over a card that will ask him to answer a question, using any of the letters from the alphabet racks, Fig. 4. His answer must contain at least one of his key letters.
How to Score-For the first three letters you get 5 points each, the next three you get 10 points each and then 20 points for each letter thereafter. If you only use one key letter in the middle of your word you only get the score on your word rack. If you use both your key letters in the middle of the word you double the word score. If you only use one key letter and it starts or ends your word you also double the word score. If you use two key letters and one starts or ends your word you double your score twice. But if you start and end your word with your key letters you double your score three times.
Stars double word score or take another card and add both scores together.
EXAMPLE If your key letters are F.E. and the card asks you to name a type of house or home and you pick Farmhouse we would score:- FARMHOUSE=105 Double for using 2 key words=210 555 101010202020 Double again for starting with a key letter-420.
Double again for ending with a key letter -840.
So Farmhouse would score 840 Points.
We then put the card back at the bottom of the place and start again.
The game lasts as long as you wish it to. To find the winner we add all the words scores together at the end of the game.
