Abstract

A frame for runner bean plants or the like which facilitates picking of beans or the like and which can be readily dismantled, comprises a central pole, arms extending radially from the pole at or near the base and top thereof, the upper arms being longer than the lower arms, and plant support strings arranged between the upper and lower arms such that each string extends from a point on a lower arm to a point on an upper arm, the point on the lower arm being at a shorter distance from the pole than the point on the upper arm and the upper arm being displaced radially from the lower arm. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Runner bean frame This invention relates to a runner bean frame.
The bean support strings follow an upward and outward direction in a circular manner.
The strings are inclined outwards, thus allowing the beans to hang more freely.
The 'top frame' string supports are elevated in a diagonal plane, and are longer that the lower.
The frame is completely portable, it can be folded away after the growing season.
It can also be placed in a 'tub' for growing Sweet peas or any climbing plant for display on a patio.
There is no need to tie up canes each year in the traditional 'wig-wam' fasion.
It is ideal for the small garden where space is at a premium. A unique feature is the way the 'strings' are inclined outwards allowing the beans to hang more freely.
The 'top frame' is elevated in a diagonal plane allowing more space for growing at the top without 'bunching' as with the 'wig-wam'.
Because of the small size of the growing area, the runner bean plants are easier to feed and water.
The strings that support the runner bean vines are detachable, thus allowing for easier dismantling at the end of growing season.
This invention relates to a Runner bean frame: The bean support strings follow an upward and outward direction in a circular manner.
The 'strings' are inclined outwards.
The 'top frame' string supports are elevated in a diagonal plane, and are longer than the lower.
The strings that support the runner bean vines are detachable.

New or textually amended claims have been filed as follows: 1. A runner bean support frame comprising of a central pole with arms extending radially from the pole, at or near the base and top thereof.
2. A runner bean support frame according to claim (1) whereas the upper arms being longer than the lower and the plant support strings arranged between the upper and lower arms such as they extend from a point on a lower arm to a point on the upper arm, the points on the lower arm being shorter distance from the pole than the upper arm, the upper arm being displayed radially from the lower arm. (Fig. 1.) The upper arms are in dined upwards from the central pole and are displaced radially from the lower arms. (Fig.
