Mounting electric lamps in lanterns.- In a light-focusing device for a vehicle lamp, the lampholder c is slidably mounted in a socket b secured to the lamp casing and is engaged by an internally-screwed cup d adapted to be rotated from the rear by its slotted head d<2> so as to force the lamp-holder forward in opposition to a spring f disposed between a flange c<2> on the lamp-holder and the reflector. The lamp-holder is prevented from rotating by a pair of tongues c<1> provided thereon and engaging longitudinal slots b<2> in the cup d. The leads for conveying current to the lamp extend from a lateral opening in the lamp-holder to a plug and socket connection in the lower part of the lamp body.
