Abstract

217,298. Donoghue, J. Dec 10, 1923. Tyre covers, tools for removing and replacing.- A cover-expanding device described as for use in placing an additional cover over the existing cover of a pneumatic tyre, comprises a cylinder 1 of greater diameter than the cover and provided with radially-disposed inwardly-extending hook-' ended bolts 3. The hooks are engaged under the edges of the cover and the bolts are moved outwards by nuts 4 until the cover is expanded sufficiently to allow it to be slipped into place over the existing cover. The hooks are then released and the device removed.
