Abstract

A toilet seat (or bowl) (1) is designed with air ducts (2) incorporated, to permit a suction to be formed at the toilet seat rim, enabling foul smelling air to be extracted immediately at its source without permitting it to spread to the toilet cubicle. The suction is by means of an electrical fan (3) operated by an inflatable pressure switch. Air is blown through a deodorizing unit (5) and is returned to the toilet cubicle, or alternatively, to the exterior of the cubicle. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Deodorizing toilet seat This invention relates to deodorizing foul smelling air in toilet and bathroom compartments.
At present all contemporary deodorizing units are in the form of external extractorfans, absorption units or scented perfumes.
All ofthese methods permit the foul smelling airto spread throughout the toilet or bathroom cubical.
Theytake considerable time to deal with the problem and are therefore quite inefficient.
According to this present invention there is provided a means by which foul smelling air can be immediately removed at its source before it is permitted to spread throughout the toilet cubical. This is achieved by means of a suction device around the top ofthetoilet receptacle. The suction device is either incorporated via an air duct into the actual toilet bowl ortoilet seat. The suction will be caused by an electrical fan which either blows the foul airthrough a chemical deodorizing unit and back into the toilet cubical, or alternatively, to the exterior ofthe cubical.
1. Atoilet seat (or bowl) incorporating a number of air ducts around its internal circumference, an electrical fan, a deodorizing device and an inflatable pressure switch enables foul smelling air to be removed from the toilet cubical immediately at its source without permittingthefoul airfrom spreading.
2. Atoilet seat (or bowl) is constructed to enable foul airto be sucked directly from the seat rim and blown through a deodorizing unit or into open space, external to the toilet cubical.
3. An air ducted toilet seat is constructed with an inflatable pressure switch to permit the operation of an electrical fan without the necessity ofelectricwires to be within the vicinity of the actual seat.
4. A ducted toilet seat is constructed to enable foul smelling airto be sucked from the rim ofthe seat and blown by an electrical fan to the exterior ofthetoilet or bathroom compartment.
