Abstract

The self-cancelling valve arrangement consists of valve rod 'A' fitted flexibly to valve head 'B'. The valve is actuated by a slight deflection of the hose to which the whole nozzle assembly is fitted. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Water economising valve The invention is a concealed, self-cancelling conservation valve intended for use on water services. It consists of a valve rod 'A' on drawing and valve head 'B'. Valve 'B' is loosely secured on Rod 'A' allowing it to swivel freely. When fitted Rod 'A' protrudes down the hose-pipe whilst the Valve 'B' rests on the valve seat under pressure of water. By slightly distorting the hose just behind the nozzle the Rod 'A' is deflected out of line with the Valve 'B'. Rod 'A' contacts with the wall of the body of the nozzle 'C' which in turn forces the valve 'B' off its seat, and in so doing opens the valve 'B' allowing water to pass through the nozzle.
Apart from the water conservation values of the invention is that the valve is also the main stop valve. This means that water is always immediately available the moment the nozzle is picked up. This is possibly desirable as in the event of fire.

    SPECIFICATION Water economising valve The invention is a concealed, self-cancelling conservation valve intended for use on water services.
