Roundabouts; see-saws. - Relates to amusement apparatus of the type comprising a member rotating about a vertical spindle and carrying seats for passengers who provide the motive power for the apparatus. The spindle b is supported in a boss a' carried by a pedestal a, a bolt a<2> serving to hold the spindle at any required height. A ball or like bearing c is carried by the pedestal a, and may be adjusted for height by means of packing rings. A member d carried by the bearing c is provided with seats e which have wheels e<2> running on a track f or on the ground. The wheels c<2> may be adjusted for height, and the radial arms d<3> may be adjusted for length, as by the bolts d<4> and the socket d<2>. A member h, rotatably mounted on the spindle b, carries arms i, pivoted at h<3>, whereby the passengers may revolve the apparatus, pawls g<1> engaging a ratchet wheel g secured to the spindle b. In the modification shown in Fig, 3, a member k secured to the member d is provided with a horizontal pivot carrying an arm l having seats l<1> at each end. The seats l<1> may be adjusted on the arm l by wing nuts l<4>, and wheels m<1>, slidably mounted in brackets m, are provided to engage a track. Two arms l may be provided on horizontal pivots at right-angles to each other.
