Abstract

214,282. Gush, A. S., and Gush, M. C. Oct. 18, 1922. Incrustation and corrosion, preventing.-In an electrolytic anticorrosion system more particularly for the water-cooling system of an internal-combustion engine, the metal electrode is supported by an insulating member which forms the closure for the aperture through which the electrode is inserted and through which it may be withdrawn without otherwise opening out the structure. The electrode B is supported in a plug C of insulating material, which is screwed into the structure A, the electrode being held in position by a shoulder and the nuts G. Alternatively, the electrode may be supported by a collar received within the outer end of the insulating plug, so that the electrode can be withdrawn without removing the plug. When applied to the water inlet branch of an engine the elect'rcde rod has screwed to it a flat metal portion, and the supporting insulating member is enlarged to form a cover to an opening big enough to allow of the insertion and removal of the flat plate. In a modification for the top header of a radiator, the electrode goes right across and is supported by insulating plugs in the two end walls.
