Abstract

A flush urinal has a line for supplying water along a path (10) located away from the inner wall of a urinal body (A) to enable a man to wash his penis after urination, in addition to a line for supplying water along the inner wall of the urinal body to flush it. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Flush urinal This invention relates to a flush urinal.
In some countries, men have adopted the habit of washing the penis immediately after urination, however, hitherto, urinals have had no device enabling the washing of the penis in such a fashion. A man wishing to wash his penis has had to wet his fingers with water flowing down the inner wall of a flush urinal and wash his penis with a small quantity of water collected on his fingers. This way of washing is, however, unhygienic and even causes infections since the water flowing down the inner wall of the urinal is not always clean, and also since the fingers are not always clean.
Under these circumstances, it is an object of this invention to provide a novel flush urinal which enables a man to wash his penis easily and hygienically after urination.
According to this invention, there is provided a flush urinal comprising a urinal body having an inner wall, means for supplying water along the inner wall of the body to wash it, and means for supplying water along a path located apart from the inner wall of the body to enable a man to wash his penis.
According to one aspect of this invention, the means for supplying the water for the purpose of penis-washing may have an outlet for water formed in the bottom wall at the top of the urinal body.
According to another aspect of this invention, the means for supplying the penis-washing water may comprise a conduit branched from a water supply pipe leading to a water chamber at the top of the urinal body, and having an open bottom located in the urinal body.
According to still another aspect of this invention, the means for supplying the penis-washing water may comprise a conduit branched from a water supply pipe leading to a water chamber at the top of the urinal body, and having an open bottom located above the top of the urinal body, and a hand washing bowl provided at the top of the urinal body and having a bottom opening located apart from the inner wall of the urinal body.
This invention enables a man to wash his penis without changing his posture when flushing the urinal. It provides a very hygienic device which does not require the use of insanitary flushing water or fingers. Moreover, the urinal of this invention is very simple in construction. This invention is easily applicable to remodel an existing urinal to impart a penis-washing function thereto.
Embodiments of the present invention will now be described in further detail by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 is a longitudinal sectional view of a flush urinal embodying this invention; Figure 2 is a front elevational view of the urinal shown in Figure 1; and Figure 3 is a longitudinal sectional view of another flush urinal embodying this invention; and Figure 4 is a longitudinal sectional view of still another flush urinal embodying this invention.
Referring first to Figures 1 and 2 of the drawings, a flush urinal embodying this invention comprises a urinal body A including a top device 1 in which a water chamber 3 is defined, and a urine receiving portion 5 having an inner wall 6. The water chamber 3 has a water inlet 2, and a bottom wall 4 formed with a water outlet 7 through which flushing water is allowed to flow down the inner wall 6 of the urine receiving portion 5, as is the case with any flush urinal known in the art. The outlet 7 defines a part of a line 8 for supplying water for washing the urinal.
The outlet 7 is located adjacent to the upper end of the inner wall 6. A water supply pipe is connected between a source 12 of water supply and the inlet 2.
Thus, the line 8 is defined by the water supply pipe, the inlet 2, the water chamber 3 and the outlet 7.
It is a particularly important feature of this invention that the urinal includes a line 11 for supplying waterforthe purpose of penis-washing. The bottom wall 4 of the water chamber 3 has another outlet 10 spaced forwardly from the inner wall 6 for allowing a part of water to flow down along a path remote from the inner wall 6 toward the bottom 9 of the urine receiving portion 5 to enable a man who has urinated to wash his penis. Thus, the line 11 is defined by the water supply pipe, the inlet 2, the water chamber 3 and the outlet 10. The source 12 of water supply may comprise a flush valve or cock which is opened to effect the washing of the urinal and the penis simultaneously, immediately after urination.
Another flush urinal embodying this invention is shown in Figure 3, and comprises a ceramic body B which is similar in construction to known urinals.
The urinal of Figure 3 is distinguished from that of Figures 1 and 2 by employing a different peniswashing water supply line 11. Line 8 for supplying water for washing the urinal is not substantially different from its counterpart in Figures 1 and 2, and comprises a source 12 of water supply, a water chamber at the top of the body B and a water supply pipe therebetween. Line 11 comprises a conduit branched from the water supply pipe, extending downwardly into the body B and having an open bottom 1 1a located apart from the inner wall 6.
A still further flush urinal embodying this invention is shown in Figure 4. This is also characterized by employing yet a further form, penis-washing water supply line, while the urinal washing water supply line 8 is essentially identical to its counterpart in Figures 1 and 2 or in Figure 3. The urinal comprises a body C provided with a hand washing bowl 13 at its top. The bowl 13 defines a part of the penis-washing water supply line, and has a bottom 14 provided with an outlet opening 15 which is directed toward the bottom of the body C and spaced forwardly apart from its inner wall 6. The penis-washing water supply line also includes a conduit 11 branched from a water supply pipe between a source 12 of water supply and a water chamber and having an open bottom 11' located above the bowl 13.
The floor and wall of a lavatory on which the flush urinal is installed are shown by F and W, respectively, in Figures 1 to 4.
The line for supplying flushing water and the line for supplying penis-washing water do not necessarily need to extend from the outside of the urinal-body to the inside thereof as shown in the drawings and hereinabove described. It is, for example, possible to connect a source of water supply directly to a urinal body so that those lines may, as a whole, be located within the urinal body. What is important in accordance with this invention is that the line for supplying penis-washing water defines a path for water flow which is separate from a path for the waterflushing the urinal. It is, therefore, possible to provide an independent source of water supply for each of those lines.
