Abstract
To manufacture any tridimensional object a tridimensional, topologically described model of the workpiece to be machined (9) is entered in a memory of a computer, and the nominal dimensions of the model are confronted with the momentaneous position of the machining tool (2). With acoustic or optical signals, for example by means of a computer screen, the operator (12) of the machining tool is guided. The machining tool is supported movably by a post composed by elements (11, 13, 15) having at least two degrees of freedom. The post may also be provided with a sensor instead of the tool, with which the workpiece (9) is probed and its shape is stored in the computer. The workpiece to be machined (9) may be movably supported in an apparatus (30), where it may be oriented so as to be machined from all sides.
