Magazine wrenches; handles.-In a magazine spanner of the kind wherein the nuts are retained in the tubular body between a spring pressed plunger and nut retention means disposed at the mouth of the spanner, the nut retention means comprises a plurality of spring controlled plungers the inner ends of which normally project through holes into the bore of the spanner, the outer ends of the plungers being engaged by an annular spring disposed round the spanner body. Means are also provided for coupling with the spanner body a cranked handle or rod for rotating it. The nut retaining plungers 15 are disposed within stepped holes 14 in an annular recess 13 formed near the end of the polygonal tubular body 8 and in its outer periphery. An annular spring 16 encircles the outer ends of the plungers so as to project their ball noses 15<a> into the bore of the tube 8, the spring and plungers being preferably enclosed by a sleeve 17 brazed or otherwise secured in position. The nuts 9 received in the tube 8 are held between the plungers 15 and a piston 11 engaged by a spring 10 abutting against a plug 12 secured in the end of the tube. Holes 19 are provided in the end of the tube to receive the end of a cranked handle or rod 20 which is formed with a flat 20<a> to prevent rotation of the rod within the holes 19 and with a shoulder 20<b> forming a limiting stop.
