Abstract

This invention consists of an 'h' profile 10 made from, rigid or flexible PVC in which the soft PVC tube 11 locates forming an excellent seal. There are slots 13 for adjustment which enables easy removal by screwing slightly allowing it to slide out. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION An h and L shaped weather profile on windows and doors This invention consists of two profiles, a small h in which is fixed to side of the door or window casement, it can be made from unobstrusive rigid P.V.C. or flexible P.V.C. And there is an L profile, the part forming the L is a soft P.V.C. tube in which is fused together during the manufacture of the profile. This profile is to be fitted on the door or window so that when they are shut too, the soft P.V.C. tube locates into the corresponding h profile, allowing for frames up to 3 mm out of true, due to warping or incorrect fixing. This is what the soft P.V.C. tube is for, allowing for warping or incorrect fixing. This method is very good for keeping the heat in the room, and is very good for stopping smoke spreading through a building. It is very good for stopping insects, sound and sand coming in through a window or door. It has virtues of simplicity of profile and concept allowing ecomonical manufacture.
Figure 10~This is the method in which you put this h profile, notice how the h profile is fitted to the door and not to the casement so that the h profile on the hinged side goes on the soft P.V,C.
tube. 11.~This is the soft P.V.C. tube fused together during manufacture. Notice how it is fitted to the door/window casement, on the hinged side and not to the door or window. 12. This part could be flexible or rigid P.V.C. 13.~The slots for adjustment are easy to take off if you want to, just unscrew a little, then it will slide out.
The door or window casement. 15.~The door or window on the hinged side in which is closed too.
16.~The hinge.
