Oil, catching and retaining. - In a packing system, which is especially applicable for a mercury turbine, the system is supplied with mercury vapour and an inert gas. The bearing 8 is supplied with lubricant under pressure. Leakage lubricant collects in a well 23 drained by a pipe 24, entrance of air being prevented by a diaphragm 26 dipping into the lubricant.
