Abstract

The clutch brake or accelerator pedals of a vehicle are immobilized by enclosure within a compartment comprising four sides, of which, one side has a number of slots corresponding in size and position to the pedals to be immobilized. The compartment is made of a strong material of such as steel. A locking arrangement is employed to shut the pedals into the compartment. This could necessitate a hinged top or any suitable way to track into a locking position, the two halves making a whole device around the desired pedals. The lock compartment is portable and easily handled and when in position gives protection by restricting pedal movements. An optional alarm system could be fitted within the pedal enclosure lock.

Description

SPECIFICATION Vehicle clutch, brake and accelerator enclosure lock The object of this invention is to provide means by which vehicle drivers can, when parking, lock and secure ;heir control pedals within a compartment equipped with slots fitted along one side to allow the pedals to drop into place. The number of slots will vary from one to three and each slot will vary from one inch to one and a half inches in size.
This container will be made from light steel, alloy or moulded heavy duty plastic or P.V.C. materials.
Fitted inside and with a pedal or pedals activating a trip switch would be an alarm device. A slider top with an anti levering rim fitted, will shut everything in.
A combination, or electronic lock will be fitted to the slider top, although any type of lock can be used if desired. The short side of the compartment rim will curve over allowing enough space for the slide top to slide in with both ends curved up thus locking itself making levering difficult. The base of the device will have sufficient depth or legs fitted to restrict movements.
This invention. The vehicle clutch, brake and accelerator enclosure lock is an oblong container with one, two, or three slots fitted evenly on one of the long sides. There is a variation to the size of the enclosure locks, due to the size and positioning of some vehicle control pedals. For automatic or semi automatic vehicles, one slot in a compartment 9" long 4" or 5" wide and 4" deep. The slot must be 3" long and be between 1" and 2" in size.
A metal ring 3" in diameter and 2" wide is fixed to the side to restrict the movements of the accelerator pedal. An enclosure 10" long, with similarspecifica tions as mentioned before, but with two slots evenly placed, is required for some vehicles. The main aspect of the invention is an enclosure with three slots where all three pedals can slot into the enclosure, this will be one foot long by approximately 5" wide by approximately 4" deep.
A slider lid will fit into a groove provided to shut the top of the enclosure. A hinged top is an alternative. A rim on the front of the slide top will provide security against levering. A knob is fitted on top of the slider.
A suitable lock will be fitted to the enclosure lock.
Rubber trimmings will be required for all edges.
An alarm device will be fitted into the enclosure, it will be activated by a pedal switch.
As claimed in Claim 1 the vehicle pedal enclosure lock will let vehicle control pedals fit into an enclosure. Activating a switch which will activate an alarm device. It is designed to deny use of the pedals once shut and locked to unauthorised persons.
It will when shut act as a base to restrict pedal movement.
New claims or amendments to claims filed on 23 I,,I, 1 Superseded claims unnumbered claim on page 3.
New or amended claims: 1. A motor vehicle anti-theft locking arrangement which gives means for the driver to enclose his or her pedals within a compartment utilising slot placements on one side giving depth of protection by restricting movement on the pedals after locking the compartment with the locking system provided.
2. A locking arrangement according to Claim 1 characterised in that the said lockable means are designed to restrict movements of brake, clutch or accelerator pedals in the preferred imbodiments.
3. A locking arrangement according to Claims 1 and 2. That is portable and is a lockable enclosure lock for vehicle pedals.
4. A lockable enclosure according to Claims 1,2, and 3, that allows the pedals into the enclosure lock by means of slot or slots placed on one side of said enclosure lock.
5. A lockable enclosure for vehicle pedals according to Claims 1 to 4, that has a suitable locking mechanism fitted within the enclosure lock linking it to a top or bottom lid that shuts the pedals in, when desired.
6. A lockable enclosure for vehicle pedals according to Claims 1 to 5 that allows the top to slide into place orthe bottom to lock into position or the hinged half or lid, or side to lock the pedals therein.
7. A lockable enclosure for vehicle pedals according to Claims 1 to 6, that allows vehicle pedal or pedals to be locked therein by means of sliding the top, the bottom, or the sides shut.
8. A vehicle pedal enclosure lock as claimed in 6 and 7 that allows the top, the bottom or the sides to be locked into position on a base.
