Abstract

In a mounting fixture with an opening (10) to non-rotationally receiving a square pin or spear (11) mounted on a roller and with a slot (9) permitting the insertion of the pin and extending from an edge (1) to said opening (10), there is provided a resilient tongue (13) forming a bottom in said slot and acting in its normal position as a block to the pin (11) in the opening (10), said tongue when subjected to resilient bending away from its normal position allowing the pin to pass through the slot (9). <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION A mounting fixture for rollers of blinds and the like 'The invention relates to a mounting fixture for rollers of blinds and the like, which in a known manner consists of a moulded body of a slightly elastic plastic material and compris ing an opening to non-rotationally receiving a square pin or spear of the roller, and a slot extending from the edge of the body to said opening and permitting the pin to be inserted therein.
In Germany such mounting fixtures have been developed which are in particular in tended to be used in connection with inclined overhead windows and are adapted to be screwed on the inner face of the sidepieces of the window frame at its upper corners so as to fit closely to the top piece of the frame.
According to circumstances, the fixtures may, however, also be mounted in another way, for instance on lining panels of the window.
The pin receiving opening of this known fixture and the slot leading thereto have in principle the same design as in traditional roller blind mounting brackets made from metal sheet by a stamping or punching opera tion and form together an angular track, which at the transition point between the inner end of the slot and the opening presents a cam or projection to prevent the square pin from jumping out of the opening.
The purpose of the invention is to provide better security in this respect without compli cating the design of the fixture or increasing its cost of production.
Accordingly, the mounting fixture of the invention is characterised in that the body comprises a resilient tongue associated with the slot and which in its normal position blocks the opening in the direction towards the slot but, upon insertion of the pin in the direction towards the opening, is resiliently bent into a position in which the blocking effect is eliminated.
The resilient tongue of the fixture so de signed fully ensures that the square pin will not unintentionally leave the opening, as this would require a bending of the tongue away from its blocking position, which cannot be effected by a casual influence. The improved security may be particularly important if the fixture is mounted on the sash of a tilting window instead of on the stationary casing, because the tongue will then, even when the sash is tilted into its cleaning position, prevent the square pin from dropping out of the opening and further out through the slot.
When the mounting fixture is of the type referred to above, in which the slot together with the opening constitute an angular track, the resilient tongue may appropriately form a bottom solely in the part of the track that corresponds to the slot and may in its normal position with its free end block the opening.
In this case the tongue is usually not affected by the square pin resting in the opening, and it remains so entirely uninfluenced in the blocking position.
This embodiment of the mounting fixture according to the invention will now be more fully explained with reference to the drawing, in which Figure 1 shows the mounting fixture in front view, and Figure 2 is a section along the line ll-ll in Fig. 1.
In the shown embodiment the fixture is trapezoidal with parallel front and rear edges 1 and 2 and a bottom edge 3 perpendicular thereto, and an inclined top edge 4. The back 5, Fig. 2, is, moreover, somewhat bevelled in relation to the front 6.
The fixture is moulded to form a one piece body consisting of a slightly resilient material, such as nylon. The front 6 is integral with a pair of projections 7 with countersunk holes 8 for screws of mounting, and between said projections the front 6 comprises a rather wide slot 9 extending from the front edge 1 and merging at its interior end into a laterally directed opening 10 for a square pin or spear 11 on a roller blind. Said pin is in both figures indicated in dotted lines.
At the front edge 1 the fixture comprises a bridge portion 12 forming a bottom of the outermost part of the slot 9, and which at its upper edge, as illustrated in the drawing, is integral with the rod of a tongue 13 that, when unloaded, slopes towards the front 6 and forms the bottom of the remaining part of the slot of insertion 9.
When the square pin 11 is inserted into said slot, i.e. upwards on the drawing, its end surface abuts the tongue 13 and bends it backwards so that the pin may be passed to the inner end of the slot and then laterally into the opening 10 so as to let off the tongue 13 which will then return to the position shown in Fig. 2, in which its free end effectively blocks the pin 11 lying in the opening 10.
