Abstract
The invention lies in making a simple open mouthed circular shaped plastic spring that is designed to allow one part of it to be attached to the axle of a wheel chair, bicycle or any light vehicle and the other part being an integral part of or attached to the vehicle giving impact resistance between wheel and the vehicle. Increased lateral stability is given to the spring by placing discs (not shown) on either side of the spring centred on the axle, and this can increase the strength to movement of the spring. <IMAGE>
Description
SPECIFICATION
Improvements to integral plastic springs
The object of the invention is to make a small impact resistant plastic spring that can be integral with the chassis of a light vehicle, such as a wheel-chair, bicycle or attached to the vehicle by bracket and other means.
The circular spring is designed to allow arrangement for discs to be fitted to improve lateral stability and also to allow strength of movement to spring.
Examples of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
FIG. 1 is a side elevation of a circular spring according to the present invention where the altering of the angle from the axle either in the direction A or B will stiffen or otherwise the impact resistance of the spring.
FIG. 2 is a side elevation of a plastic spring according to the invention where the spring is attached to the chassis arm of a vehicle.
FIG. 3 is the end view of the spring according to the present invention but showing two washers or plates marked "c" to give lateral stability.
Applications Nos. 35782/78, 37101/78, 38185/78 would apply to the above.
1. A plastic open mouthed circular spring, one part being attached to a wheel axle and the other top part being an integral part of, or attached to a light vehicle and giving impact resistance between the wheel and the vehicle.
2. A plastic spring as in Claim 1 but with one or two discs on either side of the spring and centred on the wheel axle giving added strength and lateral stability to the spring.
3. A plastic spring as claimed in Claims 1 and 2 but where the top part of the spring is attached by swivel to a disc or discs allowing both spring and discs movement.
4. A plastic spring as claimed and shown by enclosed drawings.

Claims (4)
